When Zhu Yuanzhang established himself as the king of Wu in Yingtianfu, he made Zhu Biao the prince of the king. In the first month of the first year of Hongwu (1368), after Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne and became the emperor, Zhu Biao was officially established as the crown prince.
In the tenth year of Hongwu (1377 AD), Zhu Biao was 23 years old and began to practice politics. Zhu Biao inherited the benevolence and generosity of his mother, Queen Ma, who was studious and thoughtful, diligent in politics, and had a high evaluation in the government and the opposition.
In the twenty-fourth year of Hongwu (1391 AD), just when Zhu Yuanzhang was pleased that there was a successor, Zhu Biao, who was in weak health, fell ill after he was governor of Shaanxi. Although Zhu Yuanzhang ordered the imperial doctor to be meticulous, he had no choice but to return to heaven and lacked skills, and Zhu Biao still died of illness after all.
