Not abandoned. Psychoanalytic theory has been developing, and it is an important theoretical school and theoretical basis for clinical psychological counseling.
-
I think the reason why psychoanalysis has been abandoned by modern psychology is that it is no longer suitable for modern society, survival of the fittest, natural selection, this situation is very normal.

1. What is psychoanalysis?
The psychoanalytic school of psychology was founded in 1900 by the Austrian psychiatrist and psychologist Sigmund Freud.
The theories of this school of thought were widely circulated and influential in the 20s of the 20th century. Freud believed that the human psyche can be divided into two parts: the conscious and the subconscious.
The subconscious mind cannot be consciously perceived by oneself, and it includes primitive blind impulses, instincts, and repressed motives and desires after birth. He emphasized the importance of the unconscious, believing that sexual instinct is the basic driving force of human psychology, the eternal force that manipulates the fate of individuals and determines the development of society.
Freud divided the personality into three parts: id, ego, and superego, of which the id is innate, including innate instincts and primitive desires; The self is separated from the id, between the id and the external world, and controls and regulates the id. The superego is the "moralized self", which consists of two parts, conscience and ideals, and its main function is to guide the ego to limit the impulses of the id. The three are usually in a state of equilibrium, and if the balance is disrupted, it leads to psychosis. The psychoanalytic school attached importance to the subconscious and the psyche, expanded the field of study in psychology, and obtained certain important psychopathological laws, but some of their main theories were opposed by many.
2. The development of psychoanalysis.
In the mid-30s of the 20th century, a group of psychologists represented by Sullivan, K Horney, and Fromm opposed Freud's theory of instinct, pansexuality, and personality structure, emphasizing the influence of cultural background and social factors on the production of mental illness and personality development, and formed a new psychoanalysis in the United States. The neo-psychoanalytic school still retains some of the basic ideas of Freud's doctrine, and although there are different conceptual names in its theories, in the final analysis, it is still the drive of the subconscious mind and the innate potential that play the main role.
3. The three major forces of psychology.
Among the modern schools of psychology, psychoanalytic school, behaviorist psychology, and humanistic psychology have the greatest influence, and are known as the three main forces of psychology.
The three schools of thought mainly benefit from the practice of psychology in the United States, and have direct and systematic programs and means for abnormal psychology. It has received more recognition from psychiatric doctors and organizations.
The three major schools deal with the three levels of subconscious, behavioral and self-improvement respectively and psychological development, which happen to support and improve each other to form a complete system.
Finally, it is concluded that psychoanalysis, as one of the three major forces of psychology, has made important contributions to the development of psychology, and at the same time, it is not equivalent to Freud in itself, but is also developing. Even with its limitations, psychoanalysis is not abandoned by modern psychology.

I assume from your question that you are interested in understanding yourself better and that psychoanalysis is the preferred way.
However, the process of psychoanalysis usually involves an analyst, as well as a whole set of assumptions about how to construct the psyche.
You don't have to go this way. I recommend keeping a diary. You can write down your most intimate thoughts, stay away from the judgment of others, think as often as you like, without worrying about boreting your audience, and ask yourself many personal and exploratory questions that you can try.
This practice will make you more proficient in stating and understanding the problem. If you are honest with yourself, you will become proficient at identifying your own motives, as well as those of others.
Finally, the diary will provide a record of "your head is in".
For many people, simply being able to "say the word" (even on a blank page) can be extremely useful. Once you can admit something to yourself, no one can hurt you with it.
Why is it so difficult to start psychoanalysis?
There are two reasons for this. First of all, you've never been in a situation where you shouldn't filter what you say. This is unique to psychoanalysis. Or even other types of things, where you're focused on something bad and you have a goal to get better.
Psychoanalysis is different. It is okay to deteriorate for a while, even to be expected, because you are about to face the deepest part of your psyche, which is painful and terrible.
The second reason is that we are very protective when it comes to our identification (and even our symptoms) and we are reluctant to question them. But even if we believe that there is nothing wrong with this fantasy behavior and belief, the spiritual chamber Qi Xi is questioning everything.
It's hard, but it's worth it, because you can only make a real difference if you re-evaluate your overall idea of pretending to be yourself.

Gestalt DAO Psychology, Psychoanalytic Psychology, Intentional Psychology, Structural Psychology, Functional Psychology, Geneva Psychology, Humanistic Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, etc.
I wonder how many of the people involved in the debate have systematically studied psychology?
-
Yes, psychology cuts across many fields such as psychology, medicine, pedagogy, biology, etc. Sigmund Freud, the originator of psychoanalysis, has made great achievements in many of these fields.
-
Leaning towards the category of psychology, psychoanalysis originally belongs to a school of psychology. Probably Freud studied a lot of the field related to ethics, so this is probably the case!
-
belongs. Psychoanalysis is a school of psychology.

1L is called mistaken.
Sons of Man. Spirit.
Source analysis is psychoanalysis, and psychoanalytic theory is theory. If you want to see psychoanalytic theory, you will find a large chapter devoted to Freud in the introduction to psychology in your freshman year.
I went to school in the United States, and the teacher who taught us psychology was a Ph.D. in psychology from Yale, and I also went to the University of Chicago to do a psychology vacation course in the summer. The teacher said in the first class that if you want to listen to psychoanalysis, please go to history class or literature class.
You may see psychoanalytic theories in psychology. However, psychoanalytic theories do not belong to the category of scientific psychology, because many of his theories are now questioned and cannot be falsified by many social psychology researchers. In cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, and clinical psychology, there is no psychoanalysis in the syllabus.
If there is a professor in the university who claims to be a psychoanalytic brick, then you can just ask him out of the classroom.

Modern psychology as a science, science needs to be verified by experiments, some experiments require advanced instruments and equipment, such as the study of the mechanism of the brain, the function of various parts of the brain, etc., and some experiments need a natural environment, there is a movie called "Death Experiment", you can take a look, the subject is set in a prison-like environment, study the role. There are also experiments that require less rigorous equipment, and of course still need to design control variables, such as the discovery process of forgetting curves.
There is no doubt that Freud was a great figure, but his psychoanalysis lacked hard evidence, and most of the subjects were people with mental illness. But as a person who studies psychology, understanding psychoanalysis is a must, I personally think.
First read "General Psychology", you can have a general understanding of psychology, and then focus on social psychology, which involves the ** of behavior.
Why do I think that beauty or not depends on personal inner feelings? It seems to satisfy a certain spiritual need, can make the spirit pleasant and comfortable, and produce a sense of beauty. But this does not seem to be the essential explanation. >>>More
Psychology is a science that studies human psychological phenomena, mental functions and behaviors, and it is not necessarily related to death. Death usually refers to risk-taking or reckless behavior, which may be related to a variety of factors such as an individual's personality, behavior patterns, life experiences, etc., rather than the scope of psychological research. >>>More

People will deceive themselves and do not want to admit that they are sick, so only those who are more serious and fully manifest themselves will come to the hospital for treatment. China still has a long way to go if people want to have a correct understanding of their own psychological problems.
