During World War II, the Allies suffered heavy losses due to the wolf pack tactics adopted by the German naval commander Dönitz. At a submarine base in the Atlantic Ocean, one day a submarine sailor poured his leftovers into the air, and seagulls immediately came to scramble on the beach. Over time, whenever a British submarine appeared in this area, seagulls would hover over the submarine.
The sailor then reported the incident to his superiors. It attracted close attention from the upper echelons of the British Navy. Therefore, every time the seagulls were seen circling in a certain area, the British Navy immediately sent submarines to reconnoiter this area and then attack the German submarines, and the German Navy suffered great losses due to the use of this tactic.
It also reversed the dire situation in the Atlantic.

Audi Murphy, who is only 165 centimeters tall and weighs 50 kilograms, is one of the most decorated soldiers in the United States during World War II, the prototype of Captain America. On January 26, 1945, during the Ardennes counterattack, he operated the heavy machine gun on a burning M10 tank destroyer to cover the retreat of his comrades, killing at least 50 German soldiers and repelling the attack (he killed 240 enemies during the entire war). After the war, he overcame war stress syndrome with amazing perseverance.
On December 20, 1943, a U.S. B-17 bomber commanded by Captain Charlie Brown was seriously damaged by anti-aircraft guns and fighter jets while bombing Bremen, killing a self-defense machine gunner and wounding the other crew members. Franz Stiegler, the ace of the German 27th Fighter Wing, received orders to take to the skies to intercept it, but when he saw the tragic situation inside the B-17, he decided to turn to escort the B-17 and finally made it home safely. The two reunited in 2001 and became best friends in their later years.
After the surrender of the German army in Paris, there were still sporadic German soldiers who resisted stubbornly. Major Harry Lighthold escaped capture and hid in the corner of the third floor of the Admiralty in Place de la Concorde. He heard the cheers of the crowd in the square, peeked out and saw a black convertible car driving in, with a French general in the back seat, and he raised his light machine gun and aimed it at the man.
Then another thought came to him: if he fired, the crowd would come and search for him and kill him. He reluctantly lowered the light machine gun from the windowsill, feeling that whoever the general was, his life was not worth his own.
Two years later, in a prisoner of war camp, the naval officer learned from a newspaper page that the man was - Charles de Gaulle.
Witold Pilecki, a Polish soldier and member of the Polish underground resistance, was the only prisoner in World War II to voluntarily enter a Nazi concentration camp, where he organized resistance to Nazi-occupied areas and passed on Nazi atrocities at Auschwitz to comrades outside the camp. He escaped in 1943 and survived the liberation of Poland, but was executed for treason by the newly formed Polish People's Republic in 1948.
