What are the items of quality inspection of cutting oil?
The main quality control indicators of cutting oil are viscosity, flash point, pour point, fat content, sulfur content, chlorine content, copper sheet corrosion, moisture, mechanical impurities, four-ball test, etc. For the determination method, please refer to the relevant test method standards, and only some items are briefly explained here. The method of determination is the copper sheet method.
The magnitude of the corrosive activity is expressed in stages, with grade 1 2 being low or inactive, and grade 3 4 being high activity. The larger the progression, the stronger the corrosive activity. Copper is very sensitive to sulfur, and this method can be used to determine whether there is a sulfur-containing extreme pressure agent in the cutting oil and the active size of the extreme pressure agent (Note:
This method cannot determine the amount of sulfur-containing agent). This item is also an important indicator for the classification of cutting oils.

The water-based cutting fluid should be diluted with water during application, and its test items can also be divided into two parts: direct determination and water addition determination. The items directly measured include storage stability, sulfur and chlorine content, non-volatile components, etc. The items to be measured after adding water include surface tension, pH value, foaming ability, rust resistance, corrosion, adaptability to paint, allowable amount of salt, antibacterial property, etc.
Most of these projects have a clear meaning.
1.Storage stability. Although the concentrate of water-based cutting fluid is homogeneous in appearance, it is actually mostly a colloidal system and contains a considerable amount of water.
After long-term storage and temperature fluctuations, if the formula is not appropriate, it is easy to produce precipitation, delamination and other phenomena, and often cannot be recovered. Therefore, this is an important test item.
2.Non-volatile components. The water-based cutting fluid concentrate contains water, and this item is used to determine its active component content.
3.Allowable amount of table salt. This test was carried out to determine whether the cutting fluid was allowed to be prepared with tap water with a high chlorine content.
4.Surface tension. In most cases, liquids with low surface tension tend to be on solid surfaces, so a significant number of people consider surface tension as a measure of the permeability of cutting fluids.
Strictly speaking, however, there is no direct correspondence between the two. Permeability is a vague concept that seems to be more closely related to wettability and fluidity (viscosity). Surface tension can be used as a judgment index for whether surfactants are added to the cutting fluid.
This is because a small amount of surfactant can drastically reduce the surface tension of water. In addition, the surface tension is not as small as possible, and too little surface tension can sometimes lead to other ***.
5.Antimicrobial test. Water-based liquid, especially emulsion, is prone to bacterial spoilage, so antibacterial ability is an important performance index, but it has not attracted attention in China in the past, and it has not been adopted as a quality index of water-based liquid.
