Sanmao wants to go to the Sahara Desert in order to find a place for her soul, and she yearns for the Great Desert.

Sanmao is a legend, writing good stories with words, and spending his life pursuing poetry and distance. "I am a person who is as free as air, and I will not compromise when it gets in the way of my freedom of mind," she said. ”

Sanmao does not wander to see the grassland and birds, nor just for freedom, but more to find a place for the soul to perch. She once said, "My writing life is my love life; My outlook on life is my outlook on love. ”

The Sahara is a big desert, a place where only adventurers dare to go, but there is a love story of Sanmao and Jose there. Perhaps only a barren environment like the Sahara can contrast the love between Sanmao and Jose. In other words, as long as the two hearts are happy, any kind of place is the soil for love to grow.

After a few months of falling in love, they got married, and after marriage, because Sanmao longed for the desert, they moved to live in the Sahara Desert, so there was "The Story of the Sahara".

Most of Sanmao's works were written when Sanmao went to the Sahara Desert (except for "The Rainy Season Doesn't Come Again").

Sanmao wrote a lot of articles about life in the Sahara, not directly about the desert, most of them were written about her life in the desert, what she saw and heard, and the most impressive thing was his love with Jose, "The Story of the Sahara", "The Scarecrow's Notes", "The Crying Camel", "The Gentle Night", "How Much Do You Know About the Flowers in Your Dreams", all of which are related to the desert.

She writes essays, one by one, and there may be some about the Sahara in her other works.

Because of her love for Jose, the Sahara Desert has changed from the desolate scene of the past in our hearts to become sacred and lovely.

Sanmao, formerly known as Chen Mao (mào) Ping (later renamed Chen Ping), a modern Chinese writer, was born in Chongqing in 1943 and moved to Taiwan with his parents in 1948. In 1967, he went to Spain to study, and later went to Germany and the United States. In 1973, he settled in the Spanish Sahara Desert and married Jose.

After returning to Taiwan in 1981, he taught at the Culture University before resigning in 1984 to focus on writing and speaking. He died in the hospital on January 4, 1991, at the age of 48.
