1) Drying and drying: choose a sunny afternoon, erect the stamp album in the shade of the sun, open the pages a little to dry, but do not let the sun shine directly, to prevent the paper from drying and brittleness; If there is no sun and the weather is damp, you can put the small collectibles that have been damp into the dryer, turn off the power after a little heat, and continue to dry the damp products with internal heat. (It is important to note that it is not advisable to open the stamp album in spring to look at or dispose of it, otherwise it will cause the otherwise dry stamps to become damp.)

2) Collection environment: stamps are small in size, if possible, you can go to the bank to rent a safe deposit box, because the bank basement has air conditioning all year round to prevent moisture. If you keep it at home, you can also use two layers of plastic wrap to wrap the stamps and store them in the refrigerator, or put them in a camphor wood cabinet with desiccant.

Half an hour later, take out the stamps, soak them in the newly configured laundry detergent solution, rinse them with clean water, change the water every two minutes, rinse them clean, and press them dry with absorbent paper.

For stamps that already have mold spots, the following methods can be taken to remedy:

1. Mild mold.

Generally, the mold time is less than 3 months, and the mold spots do not erode in the deep layer of the adhesive. It can be taken on a sunny day to dry, and gently wiped off with a soft brush, if there are still mold spots, you can gently wipe them off with an eraser. Such a stamp can be completely restored to its original state.

2. Moderate mold.

The mold time is about a year, and it is already powerless to use the above methods. At this time, the mold has eroded into the inside of the adhesive backing, and the mold is already obvious. At this time, the adhesive can only be sacrificed to maintain the beauty of the stamp.

Add some salt and milk to warm water and soak for 30-40 minutes. Then wipe the adhesive very lightly with a soft brush to remove mold without damaging the stamp paper. Finally, the stamps are rinsed, dried semi-dry, and then flattened.

3. Deep mold.

The mold has been moldy for more than two years, and the stamp mold has penetrated into the inside of the stamp paper, and even penetrated the paper. At this time, the stamps have little value, unless they are precious stamps and have a little remedial value. The purpose of such stamp remediation is to prevent the mold from spreading further.

The method is similar to the second method, except that it needs to be soaked in hotter water, or even boiled for a few minutes. Then rinse with acetic acid and alkaline water.

To prevent stamps from becoming moldy, in addition to some of the methods mentioned above, some technical treatments can also be used. There are three main methods of technical treatment:

1. If the sealed stamp storage method is adopted, some moisture absorbents such as color-changing silica gel and antifungal agents such as natural camphor should be placed in the stamp depository.

2. Dissolve 1 gram of thymol in 10 ml of alcohol, put it in a flat bowl, cut the absorbent paper into a rectangle 8 cm long and 6 cm wide, put it into the bowl one by one, let it absorb the made solution, and then take out the absorbent paper and put it in a cool place, dry it and put it in a plastic bag, and tie the bag tightly for later use. When using, the prepared absorbent paper can be clipped into the philatelic book. Generally, 2 sheets are placed every 10 pages of inserts, and the pieces of mold-proof paper are replaced every 1 to 2 years.

3. Cut the colorless toilet paper with good quality into a rectangle of 8 cm long and 6 cm wide, put it into the philatelic album, and put 1 sheet for every 2 side of the booklet, and the anti-mildew effect is also good.

Second, the stamps on the mildew is serious, you can take warm water with a little salt, the appropriate amount of milk method, make a solution, the mildew stamps are serious into the solution to soak, and then with a new brush or cotton wool gently wipe the stamps on the mildew, after wiping, and then rinse with water several times. Finally, the stamps are pressed dry with absorbent paper. With this method, although the dots on the stamp can be removed, the stamp is soaked in the process of soaking, and the adhesive is also soaked off, which is the defect of this method.

3. Take one-third of the spoon laundry detergent, add 150 mil to about 40 to 50 degrees of warm water, and prepare a laundry detergent solution. After the laundry detergent is fully dissolved, put the stamps with moldy spots into the laundry detergent liquid, and gently stir the solution with a clean stick every few minutes, and be careful not to hurt the stamps. After half an hour, the stamps can be removed and placed in another newly prepared laundry detergent to continue soaking.

After soaking, rinse the stamps with clean water, change the water every 2 minutes, rinse clean, take out the absorbent paper and press dry. This method removes mildew and does not hurt the color of the ticket.

It is not recommended to clean the mold, it doesn't matter if it's a credit sale, and it's better to keep it as it is if it's a new ticket.

Stamps that are not stored properly during the collection process will become moldy (or yellowed). Here's how to deal with it:

1.If it is mild moldy (or yellowish), you can add salt to milk, wait for the salt to dissolve, soak it for a certain time after moderate heating, and then gently rub it with your fingertips to clean.

2.If it is moderate or above mildew (or yellowing), a small amount of potassium permanganate solution can be added to the clean water, and cleaned after soaking; If the stamps have a slight red color after processing, they can be added to clear water.

One or two small pieces of VC, soaked and cleaned, can be washed white;

3.If it's heavily moldy (or yellowish), there may be no solution. Or you can try a few more times according to the second point, but it is likely that the picture will fade and may not be able to wash off the mold.

Keep it in a protective bag, keep the stamp book away from damp places, and do not look through it on rainy days.
