Don't hate the carving cage and the feathers, and the south of the Yangtze River is warm and the west is cold.
Persuade the gentleman not to speak clearly, and the language is clear and difficult.
Note]: You Heng, a famous man in the Three Kingdoms period, has a "Parrot Fu", which is a work of supporting things. You Heng was arrogant and arrogant, and successively offended Cao Cao and Liu Biao, and was not accommodated everywhere, and finally was sent to Jiangxia Taishou Huang Zu, where he impromptu at a banquet, pretending to be a parrot to express his own personal experience and the psychology of slander and ridicule.
Luo Yin's poem has a similar fate.
Don't hate the carving cage and the feathers, and the south of the Yangtze River is warm and the west is cold. "Longxi" refers to the west of Longshan (another name for the southern section of Liupan Mountain, extending to the border of Shaanxi and Gansu), and it is said that it is the origin of parrots, so parrots are also called "Longke". The parrot that the poet saw in Jiangnan had been cut off and put in a carved cage, so he comforted it with the above two sentences:
Don't lament the fate of your detention, this place is much warmer than your hometown after all. That being said, "don't hate" actually has "hate", so it is not difficult for careful people to hear the overtone: although they are not worried about food and clothing now, and they can't fly high, they can't help but feel regretful.
Luo Yinsheng was in turmoil at the end of the Tang Dynasty, although he had the ambition of saving the world at the end of the Tang Dynasty, but he tried and failed, wandered for most of his life, and did not meet anything, and when he was fifty-five years old, he defected to Qian Biao, who was in the area of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and only then did he have a place to live. His situation at this time was quite similar to that of the caged parrot. These two lines of poetry clearly describe his self-deprecating and self-relieving ambivalence.
Persuade the gentleman not to speak clearly, and the language is clear and difficult. "Parrots are characterized by being good at learning human speech, and the next two lines of the poem grasp this point and give rise to it. The psalmist said to the parrot in a tone of admonition
Don't speak too clearly, it's hard to say what you understand! The implicit meaning here is: if the language is not careful, it is enough to invite trouble; In order to avoid misfortune, we must be cautious.
Of course, the parrot itself does not care about the words to invite trouble, and it is obviously the author's self-comparison. It is rumored that Luo Yin was very courteous to Qian Biao in Jiangdong. But You Heng was also favored back then, and in the end he was still killed for resentment against Huang Zu.
What's more, Luo Yin's cynical thinking and habit of ridicule cultivated in his long-term life practice are difficult to change for a while, and in this case, it is completely understandable that the poet has a certain suspicion of Qian Biao.
This poem is different from the general comparison of things, but borrows the form of talking to the parrot to confide in his heart, persuading the parrot is really to persuade himself, persuading himself is really to express his inner sorrow, to put it lightly, but it is intriguing to chew.
