From the end of 1850 to the beginning of 1851, the leading group composed of Hong Xiuquan, Yang Xiuqing, Xiao Chaogui, Feng Yunshan, Wei Changhui and Shi Dakai launched an armed uprising against the Manchu court in Jintian Village, Guangxi, and later established the "Taiping Tianyuan", and captured Jinling (now Nanjing) in 1853, and set the capital here, known as Tianjing. In 1872, the last Taiping army, Li Wencai, the remnant of Yiwang Shi Dakai, was defeated in Guizhou, and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom came to an end.
