    Scott's Story.

On June 17, 1912, Scott and four of his companions stood sadly and dejectedly on the Antarctic continent. They had been walking for 80 days in extremely harsh climates, just to find the tent that Amundsen had left behind a month earlier. It contained a letter addressed to the King of Norway, and Scott had promised Amundsen that he would bring the letter back.

Later generations told the story that the letter turned Scott from an Antarctic explorer into a small letter boy.

Scott's group of five prepared a lot of dogs and horses at first, but because no one was proficient in dog sledding, and the horses died quickly in the thick and icy cold, they had to drag their own heavy sleds for most of the journey. By mid-March, by the time they erected their sixth and final tent, the number had dwindled to three. Evans, who had the best physical strength in his team, was the first to say goodbye to his teammates due to malnutrition and physical exhaustion.

Then, the frostbite on Oates' feet continued to worsen, and the pain made him walk more and more slowly, and he didn't want to let himself drag down his teammates, so one day, he struggled to his feet, pulled out the tent, looked back at his companions, and said, "I'll go out for a while, and I'll be back in a moment." Since then, he has disappeared into the vast blizzard, and his body has never been found.

However, severe physical exhaustion and extremely bad weather still took the lives of the remaining three. In his dying days, Scott continued to write letters and keep a diary. By this time, he had moved away from the desire for honor and success and became the leader of the expedition.

Perhaps, it is for this reason that in his letters, he is never pessimistic, but records all the qualities of valor, conviction and heroism.

Half a year later, the tent was found and the bodies of Scott and the other three were still lying peacefully in their sleeping bags. Later, people made crosses out of sleds and stood in front of their tombs.

Rod Amundsen: Arrive in the South.

Polar Expedition Results: The first to reach Antarctica.

    Time: 1911.

On his way to the North Pole, Roquande Amundsen suddenly decided to go to the South Pole. Because he thinks it's "cooler" to be the first person to reach the South Pole than to look at the land that has already been developed. "I will prevail over you there!

Amundsen passed the news on to his competitor, the explorer Robert Scott, who was on his way to the South Pole.

In the coldest part of the world, Amundsen glides on a sleigh on a dog across the snow-covered wasteland. It turned out to be a brilliant idea. Because, Scott chose the pony as a means of transportation, and it turned out to be terrible, and the horse's hooves kept slipping on the snow.

In the end, Amundsen arrived at the South Pole four weeks earlier than Scott.

    6) Zhang Qian's story.

In 139 BC, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty sent Zhang Qian to the kingdom of the Great Yue Clan. His mission was to help the people of the region rise up against the invaders. Zhang Qian was captured and imprisoned by the Xiongnu for 11 years, but after his release, he went on an expedition west of China.

His travel route passed through Afghanistan. At that time, no one had ever been so far west of China. Thus, Zhang Qian brought back to the emperor the first news that China had heard about India, the Middle East, and the countries of Europe.

Zhang Qian was the first Chinese to travel across Afghanistan, and later Chinese merchants carried silk and jade along the route Zhang Qian had traveled, over mountains to northwest China and through the Gobi Desert. This route came to be known as the "Silk Road".
