DNS server setup configuration method:
2008 DNS is set up by creating a new DNS role server, after opening the 2008 system, open the server manager, find the role--- there is a role on the right side to add a role.
Then enter the role creation wizard page, and proceed to the next step by default.
Wait a few moments to scan the server role, and then select DNS server (note that a fixed IP address is required to set up a DNS server).
Check Set the server fixed IP
Open the Network and Sharing Center and find the local connection properties. Open and click on Internetv4 Properties, and select Manually Configure IP in the General tab
If the server has a fixed IP address, proceed to the next step.
The dialog box is prompted to confirm the installation of the DNS server, and click [Install] to continue.
After clicking Install, you will need to wait a few minutes to enter the installation stage.
Once installed, a warning will be prompted if Windows Update is turned off. It is recommended to activate the Windows Update service (in fact, this can be turned on without affecting the use of DNS).
Go back to the Server Manager role service again, and you can see the DNS server.
How to set DNS for the client, if the internal computer, set the DNS part of the DNS part as the IP address of the server. Secondary DNS can be set to a public IP that can be connected normally, if it is dynamically assigned to the router, set the allocation of the preferred DNS to internal DNS
