In the summer of 1923, Feng Youlan successfully passed the doctoral defense of Columbia University and received a doctorate degree in philosophy with "A Comparative Study of Life Ideals" (also known as "The Theory of Profit and Loss of Heaven and Man"). After returning to China in the autumn of that year, he wrote "A View of Life" in the direction of Dr. **. In 1924, he wrote "Philosophy of Life" as a high school textbook, in which Feng Youlan established his philosophical belief in neo-realism and began to combine neo-realism with Cheng Zhu Lixue.
During her tenure at Yenching University, Feng Youlan lectured on the history of Chinese philosophy, and completed the first and second volumes of The History of Chinese Philosophy in 1931 and 1934 respectively, which later served as a university textbook and made significant contributions to the discipline construction of the history of Chinese philosophy.
For seven years, from 1939 to 1946, Feng Youlan published six books in succession, called "Books Written on the Occasion of Zhen Yuan": "New Science" (1937), "New World Training" (1940), "New Things" (1940), "New Plains" (1942), "New Yuan Dao" (1945), and "New Knowledge" (1946). Mr. Feng Youlan's work on the history of philosophy in the 40s of the 20th century is "A Brief History of Chinese Philosophy", which is a book that is simple and fascinating.
