Hello everyone! I'm standing on this podium today, nervous and excited at the same time. I was nervous because I had never been to a lecture, and I was speaking in front of a large public; I am excited because I have such an opportunity to learn about traffic safety laws with my classmates.

Although I don't have flowery rhetoric, I hope that my sincere words can awaken the students' attention to traffic safety laws and regulations and cherish life.

Let's start with a story. Several scholars shared the boat with an old man. The scholars asked the old man if he knew what philosophy was, and the old man shook his head again and again.

Scholars sighed: Then you have lost half of your life. At this moment a huge wave came, and the boat was overturned, and the old man asked

Do you know how to swim? Scholars unanimously said no. The old man sighed and said

Although this is just a story, the philosophy behind it is intriguing. Disasters happen to everyone, rich or poor, regardless of gender or age. Children, students, workers, intellectuals, servants of the people, ......No matter how babbling or learning to be rich, whether you are young and weak, or strong, if you lack due vigilance and do not understand the minimum safety knowledge, then, once the danger comes, the doom that could have escaped will happen unexpectedly and objectively.

Students! When you cross the road at a red light because there are no vehicles at the intersection, have you ever thought that you have reached the brink of danger? When you are riding a bicycle on the road complaining that you are driving too slowly and want to overtake the vehicles in front of you, do you remember how many drivers die every year because of illegal overtaking?

When you complain that there are too many regulations and the traffic police are too strict, have you ever thought about how much shock and gore this death report under the wheel will bring to people if it is not so? Students, the Iraq War lasted two years and killed more than 40,000 people, but have you found that the number of car accident deaths per year is a ruthless number that is even colder than war?

I don't know if you know: driving in the direction of the prescribed route, not running red lights, not speeding, not drunk driving, not crossing the road, etc., these very simple practices are not only a manifestation of obeying traffic rules, but also a civilized behavior. Because in this way, you are not only ensuring the safety of your own travel, but also showing respect for the lives of others.

To abide by rules and disciplines is to respect life and self. When we can do all this, our society will be one step closer to the other side of civilization. Attaching importance to traffic safety is the obligation of each of us, and it is the responsibility of each of us.
