5. Overview: The alloy has corrosion resistance to various corrosive media.
Due to the chromium content, it has better corrosion resistance than pure nickel (alloy 200 201) under oxidation conditions. At the same time, it contains a large amount of nickel, which makes the alloy very resistant to corrosion in reducing conditions and alkaline solutions. In addition, it has strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
It has good corrosion resistance in organic acids such as acetic acid, formic acid, stearic acid, etc., and moderate corrosion resistance in inorganic acids. It has very good corrosion resistance in high-purity water used in primary and secondary cycles in nuclear reactors.

NS312 is an early nickel-chromium-iron-based solution strengthened alloy, which has good high temperature corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, excellent cold and hot working and welding process performance, and satisfactory thermal strength and high plasticity below 700. The alloy can be strengthened by cold working, and can also be connected by resistance welding, fusion welding or brazing, and can be used for cold-rolled sheets, hot-rolled thick plates, strips, wires, bars, round cakes, ring blanks, ring forgings, etc., which are suitable for making oxidation resistant parts with low loads below 1100.
NS312 Application Overview and Special Requirements The alloy has mature experience in foreign use, and has been made into aerospace engine parts in China, and has also been used in aviation through flight tests.
Microstructure of NS312 alloy After 2 h of 1120 treatment, only Tin nitride and Cr7C3 carbide were available, and after 870 long-term aging for 1500 h, Cr7C3 and Tin were still present in the microstructure, indicating that the microstructure of the alloy was stable.
NS312 Heat Treatment Process for Parts The heat treatment process of parts should be carried out according to the heat treatment system of the corresponding material standards. The annealing of sheet and strip parts should be carried out in a protective atmosphere.

There are two methods, one is to use passivation paste, which is specially used to clean short stainless steel welds, which only need to be applied to the weld for 20 minutes and wiped off; The other is for more welds, first put the workpiece into the mixture of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid to soak and clean for 15 minutes, take it out and rinse it with water, and then put it into nitric acid to passivate for 20 minutes, take it out and rinse it clean.

If rust is caused by the adhesion of dissimilar metals, or if the rust is not too severe, it can be easily removed by wiping with a sponge or cloth, a mild detergent, or soapy water. Then rinse with clean water, taking care not to leave the lotion solution on it. This level of rust removal, as long as the removal work is done immediately, it is not only easy to maintain, but also more effective, and the removal cost is also very cheap. >>>More
