The TOEFL Speaking test has 6 questions, and its basic information is:
Question 1 (Independent Speaking Task).
Question 1: In this task, candidates are asked to talk about people, places, objects or events that they are familiar with.
Question 2: In this question, the test taker will be presented on the screen with two possible actions, situations, or opinions. Candidates are asked to talk about which behavior or situation they prefer or think is more reasonable, as well as give reasons and explain in detail why they made that choice.
Questions 3-6 (Integrated Speaking Task).
Test takers will hear two people, sometimes one person, talk about the topic and express their opinions on the topics mentioned in the essay. The test taker will then be given a question and will have 60 seconds to build on what they have read and heard. In general, these topics cover areas such as policies, regulations or procedures in universities; The university's plans, campus facilities, or the quality of life on campus, etc.
Question 4: Academic Lectures: Question 4 is the second question of the Integrated Speaking task.
In this question, candidates are required to read an academic essay and then listen to an excerpt from a lecture given by a professor on the topic. After that, candidates are required to answer the questions based on the listening and reading materials for 60 seconds.
Question 5: Campus Life: In Question 5, candidates will hear a conversation about a campus scene and then a question about the topic.
In a conversation, two people usually discuss a problem and propose two solutions, either related to one or a problem shared by both of them. After listening to the material, candidates are usually required to briefly describe the problem in the conversation and express their views on the solutions presented in the conversation.
Question 6: Academic Lectures: Question 6 is academic listening wood.
In this question, candidates first listen to an excerpt from a lecture given by a professor on an academic issue, and then they need to answer a question about the excerpt for 60 seconds. As in Question 4, the academic topics here cover life sciences, social sciences, natural sciences and humanities.
Essay: The New TOEFL Writing section consists of 2 topics: Integrated Writing and Independent Writing.
1 The Integrated Writing Task: Candidates are required to read an academic passage in 3 minutes, then listen to a recording of a lecture related to the topic, and then write an overview of the main points of the lecture. In the overview, candidates are asked to clarify how the main arguments of the lecture relate to the ideas in the reading passage.
2 The Independent Writing Task: Students are asked to present their own ideas on a problem and write a short essay in 30 minutes. Candidates are required to state their opinion on an issue in their essay.
The TOEFL arrives at 8:30 a.m. and starts at 9 a.m.
