The semi-final consists of two parts: theory and experiment. According to the total results of theory and experiments in the semi-finals, the competition committees of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government will recommend students with excellent results to participate in the finals. The final round will be judged by the National Competition Committee. There are about 50 first prizes, 150 second prizes, and 200 third prizes in each final.
