An opera in three acts, Piave is based on Alexandre Dumas's famous La Traviata. In 1852, Verdi completed the entire composition work in just one month.
The story takes place in the 19th century when Violeta, a courtesan in Paris, falls in love with Alfredo and wants to escape from her past life. But their love was opposed and interfered with by Alfredo's father, Armand. Violetta had no choice but to return to her former friend, Baron Dufer.
Alfred thought that Pebina Violetta had betrayed him and humiliated Violetta in public. When Violetta became seriously ill, Alfredo and his father confessed their actions and expressed their admiration for the unfortunate woman.
