Based on this core content, there are two more corollaries of the "barrel theory":

At first hearing this theory, you will be skeptical: how is the longest not as good as the shortest? Then there will be understanding and approval:

It is not the longest plank that determines the capacity of the barrel, but the shortest plank! This seems to be at odds with conventional thinking, but it has been proven to be true.

The "barrel theory" can inspire us to think about many questions, such as the importance of team building in a business. In a team, it is not the person with the strongest ability and the best performance who determines the strength of the team's combat effectiveness, but precisely the laggard with the weakest ability and the worst performance. Because, the shortest plank plays a limiting and restraining role on the longest plank, which determines the combat effectiveness of the team and affects the overall strength of the team.

In other words, it is necessary to find ways to make the short board reach the height of the long board or keep all the boards "high enough" at the same height, so as to fully play the role of the team and fully embody the team spirit.

For the writing ability of our technical people, the short board theory and the long board theory in the barrel theory are very important.

The short board theory says that the amount of water a barrel can hold depends on the shortest board. As a technical person, if writing is your shortcoming, if it is too short, it will definitely limit your growth.

The longboard theory says that the longboard determines our core competitiveness, in this era of information, the vast majority of people cannot, in fact, do not need to be superhuman in all aspects, as long as we are the most good at the technical field slightly ahead of others. When you tilt the bucket, the longboard allows you to hold more water. When you have a longboard, it is easier to make a profit by laying out around this longboard.

You can also make up for your other shortcomings by cooperating and purchasing. That's why teamwork is important.
