The author of "Charlotte's Web" is the American prose writer White. I'd rather say he's an excellent writer of children's literature, though, and all three of his fairy tales are world-renowned.
Charlotte's Web was inspired by a real event that happened on the farm. Once, a pig raised by White was sick, and in order to save the pig, he tried his best to find a doctor. But in the end the pig died.
Originally, this was not a big deal, because even if the pig did not die of disease, it would have to be slaughtered sooner or later. However, White was quite touched by this, and immediately wrote the essay "The Death of a Pig", expressing his unprecedented feelings. He was determined to save Piggy's life, and the book "Charlotte's Web" was born.
