Liu Xiang graduated from East China Normal University.
Liu Xiang was born on July 13, 1983 in Putuo District, Shanghai, and is a 110-meter hurdles athlete of the Chinese men's track and field team. He is the first athlete in the history of Chinese athletics and Asian athletics to win multiple honors in the Olympic Games, indoor and outdoor world championships, IAAF Grand Prix finals and world record holder.
At the 2004 Athens Olympics, the men's 110m hurdles equaled the world record set by Britain's Colin Jackson with a time of 12.91 seconds. In the men's 110m hurdles at the 2006 Lausanne Athletics Super Grand Prix in Switzerland, he broke the world record of 13 years with a time of 12.88 seconds and won the championship.

On March 16, 2003, in the men's 60-meter hurdles competition of the 9th International Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham, England, Liu Xiang won the third place with a time of 7.52 seconds, breaking the Asian indoor record and becoming the only Asian athlete to win a medal in this competition, realizing the breakthrough of "zero" medal for Chinese male players in this event in the past 18 years.
