Lu Ling (1923-1994) is a modern and contemporary writer. Formerly known as Xu Sixing, pen names Bingling, Feng Song, Weiming, etc. Originally from Wuwei, Anhui, he was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, to a merchant family.

He studied at Lianhuaqiao Primary School and Jiangsu Provincial Jiangning Middle School, and was fond of reading Chinese classics and Turgenev's works. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he moved to Hanchuan, Hubei Province with his family, and published essays such as "A Bloodstain and Tears". In the winter of 1937, he went into exile in Sichuan, studied at the National Sichuan Middle School in Hechuan, and participated in the organization of the Sentinel Literary and Art Society.
