In summer and autumn, it is best to water in the morning or evening, while in spring and winter because of the low temperature, it is best to choose to water at noon.

In addition, because the water quality in the north is harder and more alkaline, it is best to use rainwater or fully decomposed and diluted rice water to increase the acidity of the soil.

3. Light] Yew has strong shade tolerance and can grow in the lower layers of the forest in a natural environment. It is best not to put potted yew trees in a place where there is sun all day long, especially at noon, and must not be exposed to the sun. It can be placed in a ventilated place with sunlight in the morning or afternoon.

If it is placed indoors, it is best to place it in a ventilated place with strong scattered light, but it must not be in an air conditioning vent or near a heater, so that the leaves are easy to fall off.

Leave it in the morning sun for two to three hours every week to make the yew grow better, but it's best not to stay outside overnight in winter.

4. Fertilization] Fertilization is only needed in the growth period of yew, and fully decomposed cake fertilizer liquid fertilizer is applied every half a month, and it is used after dilution at 1:10, this liquid fertilizer must not be sprayed directly on the leaves, which is easy to burn the leaves. Remember to water the day after fertilization to prevent root burning.

Some people like to pour leftover tea leaves and water into potted plants, which is not suitable for yew, which contains substances such as theophylline, which not only changes the pH of the soil, but also destroys the organic matter in the soil.

5. Change pots] It is best to change a larger pot once a year, so as to fully meet the needs of yew growth and development. Repotting takes place every year before the sprouts sprout, probably in February or March.
