Error 678 is one of the faults of broadband. The implication is that the remote computer is unresponsive. To put it simply, the network is not working.

Broadband dial-up Internet access uses PPPOE protocol connection, the meaning of error prompt 678 is, the remote computer is not responding, which means that the computer sends instructions to the network card to send data outward, including the transmission of network cables, and the port of the terminal board of the central office (computer room end) processes the data transmission problems in the process of returning data to the computer.

There are many reasons for error 678, such as: equipment problems in the computer room, backbone cable problems, wiring cable problems, user network cable problems, user computer network card problems, user computer system problems, etc., which may lead to error 678. Another reason is that if you use a router, you usually don't need to use a broadband connection anymore, and if you use it again, you will get a 678 error.

3. Solution:

1. Please confirm whether you are using a router, if you are using a router, the dialing operation is completed by the router, and there is no need to manually dial the number on the computer;

2. Please confirm whether there are any software restrictions such as firewalls or other Internet assistants, and if so, it is recommended that you log out and then try to dial up;
