The World Diving Championships are held every two years.
Founded in 1979, the World Diving Championships is the world's highest-level diving event organized by FINA, and is known as the "World Diving Three Majors" together with the World Aquatics Championships and the Olympic Games.
The event has great influence, high level, and many athletes from participating countries and regions, which is a grand event in the national mountain diving industry and a major event to test the diving training level of various countries.
Shanghai in 1985, Beijing in 1993, Changshu in 2006, Beijing in 2008, Changzhou in 2010, Shanghai in 2014, and Wuhan in 2018 held the 4th, 8th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 19th, and 21st World Championships respectively, and China has also become the country with the most times of the event with 7 times.
The historical results of the Chinese team at the World Diving Championships
The Chinese diving team's debut at the World Championships in 1982 was highly anticipated because just a year earlier, China had swept the World Cup with three gold medals in four events. However, the Chinese team did not perform well in the World Championships, only Zhou Jihong won the bronze medal in the women's 10-meter platform, and Peng Yuanchun won the third place in the women's 3-meter board. The U.S. team won all four gold medals under the leadership of diving superstar Loganis, who became a double champion.

In 1992, Gao Min won the gold medal in the women's 3-meter springboard, and Fu Mingxia won the women's 10-meter springboard championship.
Gao Min is China's first Olympic springboard diving gold medalist, has won more than 70 championships in his career, and has set a record of 7 years of victory in the Asian Games, World Cup, World Championships and Olympic Games.
In 1996, Fu Mingxia won the gold medals in the women's 3-meter springboard and the women's 10-meter platform.
In 2000, Fu Mingxia won the gold medal in the women's 3-meter springboard, and Li Na Sangxue won the women's double 10-meter platform championship.
At just 14 years old, Fu Mingxia became the youngest champion in Olympic history and was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records. At the same time, the double champion is also the first athlete in China's Olympic history to win three consecutive championships.
In 2004, Guo Jingjing won the gold medal in the women's 3-meter springboard, Guo Jingjing and Wu Minxia won the gold medal in the women's double 3-meter springboard, and Li Ting won the gold medal in the women's double 10-meter platform.
In 2008, Guo Jingjing and Wu Minxia won the gold medal in the women's double 3-meter springboard.
Guo Jingjing joined the national diving team in 1993 and officially retired in 2011. She has won a total of 31 world championships, including the World Cup, the Olympic Games, the World Championships and the Asian Games, and is the only five-time winner in the history of the World Championships.
Wu Minxia was selected into the national diving team in 1998 and has always been regarded as another leader of my country's diving team after Guo Jingjing. In 2016, she won her fifth Olympic gold medal, tied with Zou Kai for the most gold medalists in China's Olympic history. Since then, her total number of Olympic medals has reached 7 (5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze), becoming the first person in China's Olympic history.
In 2008, Chinese teenager Wang Xin and Chen Ruolin won the gold medal in the women's doubles 10-meter platform at the Beijing Olympics, which was the 100th gold medal in the history of the Olympic Games.
Chen Ruolin was selected for the Dream Team in 2004 at the age of 12 and announced her retirement due to a cervical spine injury. She is the first diver from my country to win both the single and double 10m platform at the Olympics, the World Championships and the World Cup, and achieve a Grand Slam. With the success of winning the 10m platform single and double championships at the 2012 London Olympics, she tied for the top of the gold medal list of my country's diving team with Fu Mingxia, Guo Jingjing and Wu Minxia with four gold medals.

The rules of the World Championships diving competition.
According to the regulations of the FINA Diving Technical Committee, all Olympic and World Cup diving competitions must have preliminaries, semi-finals and finals. In the finals, athletes compete in reverse order of total scores. In the event of an elimination system in the finals, athletes will compete in the following competitions in reverse order of the total points scored in the preliminary round.
In the event of a tie score, the order of play is determined by drawing.
Unlike the singles competition, there is no preliminary round for the doubles competition in the Olympic Games, and the final will be played directly. Since there are no preliminaries, the order in which these teams will play is randomly determined by the computer.
