Sailing was added to the Olympic Games for the first time

Sailing was included in the second Olympic Games in 1900.

Sailing originated in Europe and its history dates back to ancient times. Sailing is a testimony to man's struggle against nature, and the history of sailing is as old as the history of human civilization. Sailing as a race is first recorded in the works of the ancient Roman poet Wigiel more than 1,900 years ago.

There are two types of sailboats: steady board sailing boats and keel sailing boats. Light, nimble and capable of driving in shallow water, the Flying Dutchman, Dutchman, 470, Star and Tonado are among the most popular sailboats in the world. Keel sailboats, also known as steadfast rudder boats, are large and inflexible, have good stability and strong sail power, and can only travel in deep water.

The Storm type, Thorin type, etc., in the Olympic sports are all in this category.

In 1896, it was included in the first Olympic Games, but it was not held due to bad weather. In 1900 it was again included in the Olympic Games. Originally a mixed event, it was divided between men and women since the 1988 Olympic Games.
