Haizi (1964-1989), formerly known as Zha Haisheng, was born in May 1964 in Chawan Village, Gaohe Town, Huaining County, Anqing City, Anhui Province, and grew up in the countryside. In 1979, at the age of 15, he was admitted to the Law Department of Peking University, and began to write poetry during his college years. After graduating from Peking University in 1983, he was assigned to work in the Department of Philosophy of China University of Political Science and Law.

On March 26, 1989, he committed suicide by lying on the slow train track between Shanhaiguan and Longjiaying. In the poet's short life, he maintained a holy heart. He has not been understood by the world for a long time, but he is a poet in the new literary history of China in the 80s of the 20th century.

With his brilliant talent, miraculous creativity, keen intuition and extensive knowledge, he wrote nearly 2 million words of poetry, drama, and drama in an extremely poor and monotonous living environment, and is one of the best poets in the history of Chinese new poetry.
