Mother's Love This is a true story. The story takes place in the western part of the motherland, in a desert region with an extreme shortage of water. Here, the daily water consumption per person is strictly limited to three catties, which must be transported from far away by the garrison.
Daily drinking, washing, washing, laundry, including feeding the animals, all rely on these three catties of precious water.
People lack water, and so do livestock, thirsty! Finally, one day, an old cow, who had always been regarded as honest and faithful, was so thirsty that he broke free from the reins and forced his way into the desert, the only way for the water truck. Finally, the military vehicle carrying water came, and the old cow quickly rushed onto the highway with incredible discernment, and the soldier stopped abruptly with an emergency brake.
The old cow stood silently in front of the car, letting the driver scold and drive away, refusing to move half a step. Five minutes passed, and the two sides were still at a stalemate. The warriors who carried the water had encountered obstacles before, but they were not as stubborn as this cow.
People and cattle were consumed like this, and finally caused a traffic jam, and the driver behind began to curse and swear, trying to drive away in a hurry, but the old cow was unmoved.
Later, when the owner of the ox came, the embarrassed and angry master raised his long whip and struck the scrawny cow on the back, and the ox was beaten until its skin was torn open and cried out in mourning, but it refused to let go. The blood poured out, the whip was dyed red, and the old cow's terrible moo, and the cold wind in the desert, looked extremely tragic. The soldier who was carrying the water on the side cried, and the driver who was scolding also cried, and finally, the soldier who carried the water said:
Let me break the rules once, and I'm willing to accept one punishment. He took out half a basin of water from the waterwheel—exactly about three pounds—and placed it in front of the cow.
Surprisingly, the old cow did not drink the water obtained by fighting to the death, but looked up to the sky and mooed at the sunset, as if calling for something. A calf ran behind the sand pile not far away, and the wounded old cow lovingly watched the calf greedily drink the water, stretched out his tongue and licked the calf's eyes, and the calf also licked the old cow's eyes, and in silence people saw the tears in the eyes of the mother and child. Without waiting for the master to shout, in the silence, he turned his head and walked back slowly.
That night, when I watched this heart-wrenching scene on TV, I remembered the poverty and embarrassment of my family when I was a child, and I thought of my loving mother who still works in the countryside, and I shed tears that I had not seen for a long time.
