Exegesis. Selected from the third volume of "Pre-Qin, Han, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties Poems, Wei Poems". Liu Zhen (186-217), a poet of the late Han Dynasty and one of the seven sons of Jian'an, is known for his five-character poems.
There are three poems of "Gift to Younger Brother", all of which are used in comparison. This is the second one. The author uses pines and cypresses as a metaphor to praise the pines and cypresses for their ability to stand tall in the wind and not fall down, and not wither through severe cold.
He encouraged his cousin to be loyal and self-controlled, and not to change his nature due to external oppression. From (cóng) brother, cousin. The text of the whole poem is plain and the style is simple.

Translation of this paragraph.
The pine trees on the high hill stand tall in the wind blowing in the valley. How strong the wind blows, how strong the pine branches are! The ice and frost were falling violently, but the pines and cypresses stood upright for a long time.
Isn't it bitterly cold? Pines and cypresses have the nature of not being afraid of the cold!

Technique: Supporting things and words (Tuoyong standing in the cold wind of the pine and cypress to say the words: encourage the cousin to be loyal and self-controlled, and should not change his nature due to external forces).
Appreciation: The author wrote a poem to encourage his cousin to have the same quality as a pine and cypress. "When the year is cold, then the pine and cypress wither", this is an ancient adage, and this poem was conceived from this aphorism.
The poet imagined that the green pines towering over the high mountains seemed so strong and tenacious in the bleak valley wind. The more fierce and intense the mountain wind, the more vigorous and powerful the pine branches became. In the harsh winter season, the fierce wind, frost, ice and snow hit the green pine together, and it also stood majestically and unwaveringly.
Finally, the poet emphatically points out that it is not because the pine is not afraid of the cold, but because it has the quality of being strong enough to resist the frost. This poem, despite the effort to embellish and polish the artistic image.
It's a little less, but it seems to have a lot of backbone, and it shows the poet's indomitable tenacity character very fully.
The bright moonlight in front of the bed is suspected to be frost on the ground. Raise your head to look at the bright moon and bow your head to think of your hometown.
