Introduction to Xian Xinghai

Xian Xinghai, formerly known as Huang Xun and Kong Yu. His ancestral home is Panyu, Guangdong, and he was born in Macau. He is a famous composer and pianist in modern China, and is known as the "people's best digger".

In 1926, he entered the Peking University ** Transmission Institute and studied under the composer Xiao Youmei and the Russian violin professor Tonov. In 1928, he entered the National Academy of Sciences.

In 1929, he went to Paris to study under the famous violinist Pani Oberdofer and the famous composer Paul Ducasse. After returning to China in 1935, he actively participated in the anti-Japanese salvation movement. In 1938, he went to Yan'an, and later served as the head of the ** department of Lu Xun Art Institute.

On October 30, 1945, Xian Xinghai died of lung disease in Moscow. Xian Xinghai has composed a large number of militant and infectious mass songs throughout his life.

"Yellow River Cantata" is Xian Xinghai's most representative and most familiar work. The music was born in the most tragic days before the Japanese War, after the fall of Wuhan in November 1938, when the famous poet Guang Weiran (Zhang Guangnian) retreated with three anti-enemy drama teams and passed through the Yellow River, which triggered the poet's creative inspiration. Arriving in Yan'an in January of the following year, the long-brewing poetry broke out, wrote the Yellow River poem, and gave a recitation performance on the Chinese New Year's Eve of the Lunar New Year. It was completed on March 31 of the same year, and on April 13, Wu Xiling commanded the three anti-enemy teams to premiere at the Great Shaanxi Auditorium, and on May 11, Xian Xinghai conducted the Lu Xun performance team.
