Sir Frank Williams founded Williams in 1977 and over the course of nearly 50 years, Williams has won seven Drivers' Championships and nine Constructors' Championships. In 2013, Sir Frank Williams' daughter, Claire Williams, took over the day-to-day management of the team.

Claire has been involved in Formula 1 all her life, following her father to the track from a young age, before moving first at Silverstone and starting racing for Williams in 2002.

Eight years later, she became Head of Team Communications, in 2012 she succeeded Sir Frank Williams as the representative of the Williams family, and one year later she became Team Principal of Williams, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the team.
