Khunjerab Port is located in Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang, China, with an altitude of 4,733 meters, adjacent to Pakistan, 125 kilometers away from Tashkurgan County in the north, is a class of ports approved by the state to open to the outside world, officially opened to third country personnel on May 1, 1986. Natural Environment:

Legend has it that before the Tang monk studied the scriptures in the west, there was a caravan of up to 10,000 people who died due to a snowstorm. To this day, there are still people who work tirelessly to find the treasure that the caravan discarded.

Production Activities:

The Tajik people living here are mainly animal husbandry, living a semi-nomadic and semi-sedentary life, sowing some cold-tolerant crops in spring, driving herds to the alpine steppe to graze in early summer, returning to the village to harvest for the winter after autumn, and so on.

The Khunjerab port is located in Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County on the Pamir Plateau. It is a treaty port on the border between China and Pakistan, and the only highway port in Xinjiang open to third countries, and an important gateway from western China to the Middle East, the South Asian subcontinent and even Europe.

Hongqilap Port is located in Tashkurgan County, with an altitude of more than 5,000 meters, 125 kilometers away from Tashkurgan County, and a total length of 415 kilometers from Kashgar to Khunjerab. In this case, if you arrange a tight itinerary, you can travel in two days.

There is no highway from Kashgar to Khunjerapu, only the national highway.

Starting Point: Kashgar City**.

1.From the starting point, drive due west along Renmin East Road for 370 meters and go straight into Renmin West Road.

2.Drive 970 meters along Renmin West Road, pass the New World Daily Department Store on the right, and go straight into Xiyu Avenue.

3.Drive along Xiyu Avenue for kilometers and turn slightly right onto Branch Line 688.

4.Follow the 688 branch line for kilometers and turn left back onto Pamir Boulevard.

Follow the G314 for kilometers and reach the end (on the right side of the road) at the end point: Khunjerapu.

Khunjerab Pass is 145 kilometers away from the county seat of Kashgar, about 5,000 meters above the sea, which is the end point of the domestic section of the China-Pakistan Highway from Kashgar to Bachistan, and has a boundary monument of China's national border.

Khunjerab is the highest port in the world in Shanghai, due to the bad weather, it is only closed from April 15 to October 15, and the rest of the time is closed, neither tourists, family visitors or businessmen can pass. The scenery near the pass is very good, and there is a constant stream of tourists and merchants here during the closing period.

The 415-kilometer-long China-Pakistan Highway from Kashgar to Khunjerab is a must-go for a trip to the Pamirs (the Green Mountains mentioned in "Journey to the West" are in this area), passing through Oitak Forest, Karakuri Lake, Muztagh Peak, Stone Town, Princess Fort and other attractions along the way, which is still very worth visiting.

Due to climatic conditions, the Khunjerab border crossing is open seasonally, generally from May to October each year; Tourists must apply for a border pass from the Kashgar Public Security Bureau in advance, otherwise they will not be able to enter Tashkurgan.

During the Tang Dynasty, the city gang country "Qi (qie) Pantuo State" established here in the Western Regions of China at that time set up a green ridge guard here.

6.Drive along Tuhe Expressway for 30 meters and go straight into Tuhe Expressway.

7.Drive along Tuhe Highway for kilometers and go straight into Tuhe Expressway.

8.Drive 10 meters along the Tu Xi Wheel and the highway and go straight into the Sisha Line.

9.Follow the Sisha Line for km and turn slightly left onto Khunbas Road.

10.Follow Khun Bas Road for km and turn left.
