When static electricity accumulates to a certain voltage, it is released, which is the phenomenon of "electric shock". When the user's hand is in direct contact with the board card and memory chip in the case, static electricity will instantly enter the internal circuit from a pin of the chip, burning the transistors and metal wires in it, causing invisible damage.

Therefore, before opening the chassis, you need to first dissipate the static electricity on your hands, such as touching metal objects such as doorknobs and water pipes, or touching the wall or wet towel with your hands to "release" the static electricity in your body. The best thing to do is to wash your hands so that static electricity runs away with the water, and then dry your hands before opening the case.

Inside the chassis, the power supply will also generate a large amount of static electricity, especially the capacitance of some inferior power supplies is cut corners, and the static electricity is released nowhere, and it will run into the chassis outside the power supply, so the chassis must be grounded. In this case, a power strip with a ground cable is required. At the time of installation, many users are accustomed to asking the merchant for a power strip giveaway, and the merchant will naturally not give you any high-quality products, so many cheap and inferior power strips are used at the power inlet end of the computer.

If the ground wire is omitted in these inferior strips, then static electricity cannot be released through the ground wire.

Then we can build this ground wire for the chassis ourselves, first find a wire. Peel off both ends to expose the copper wire, and tighten the screws by wrapping one end around the metal screws of the case. Tie the other end to the water pipe, heating pipe or aluminum window (make sure they are connected to the ground) to prevent static electricity.

It should be noted that do not tie the grounding wire to the gas pipe, as the electric spark of static electricity will cause the gas**, which will be very dangerous.
