The gray of the painting is because there is no contrast, it is best not to move the bright part of the painting for beginners, try to leave it blank, and take the soft lead painting in the dark part, it is best to go over and over again, the advantage of being transparent is that the picture appears to be deeply moving.

The problem of over-the-top is actually a problem of depth, and the problem of going deep is your technical problem. If you want to improve your skills, you should draw more sketches and copy the works of masters. Don't look at the things in the pre-exam class, those are all misleading.
