Long Yuqiu (Civil Engineering and Structural Mechanics Expert, Educator. Anhua County, Hunan Province, is suspected of attacking people. He has long been engaged in the teaching and research of structural mechanics, shell structure, finite element and variational principle. He has published 21 books and 235 academic articles. Participated in the formulation of the "Design Regulations for Reinforced Concrete Thin Shell Structures" issued and implemented by the Ministry of Construction in 1998.
His representative works include Structural Mechanics, Variational Principle, Finite Element and Shell Analysis, and New Finite Element Theory. The first scientific research achievements include generalized coordination element, partition and parametric variational principle, partition mixed element, analytic test function method, quadrilateral area coordinate method, etc. A novel solution was proposed to solve difficult problems such as shear locking and distortion sensitivity.

In terms of finite element and variational principle, he has made a number of pioneering achievements at home and abroad, including: the principle of partition and partial energy (1980), the partition hybrid finite element (1982), the spline finite element (1984), the variational principle with optional parameters (1986), the generalized coordination element (1987, Xin Kegui [1,2]), the quadrilateral area coordinate theory (1997), the blockless rational element of thick plate laminate (1998) and the analytical test function finite element (2002).
In terms of shell calculation theory, he founded the force method for column-shell and folded plate (1962), the perturbation method for stress concentration in thin shell (1965), and the new finite element method for thin shell (1993).
Remarkable results have been achieved in engineering application: the scientific research results have been compiled into the "Thin Shell Design Regulations" of the Ministry of Construction, which plays a guiding role in the design and construction of shell engineering in China; In 1963, he studied the stress concentration problem of submarine thin-shell emithole, and established the analysis method of thin-shell large-orifice, which improved the design level. He is the author of monographs such as "New or Finite Element Theory", "Basis and Progress of Energy Principle", "Variational Principle, Finite Element and Shell Analysis", "Structural Mechanics", "Structural Mechanics Course", "Introduction to Shell Structure" and other textbooks.
