Later, Cao Cao sent Xu Huang to reinforcements, and Lü Meng of Eastern Wu attacked Jingzhou again, and Guan Yu was defeated and killed.

Yan Liang was shocked and hurriedly responded to the battle. Cao Cao ordered Zhang Liao and Guan Yu to attack him as the vanguard. In the sixteenth year of Jian'an (211), Liu Bei entered Shu to help Liu Zhang defend Zhang Lu, and Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Zhuge Liang and Guan Yu defended Jingzhou.
