Fu Yuning, male, was born in March 1957. He holds a bachelor's degree from Dalian University of Technology and a Ph.D. in marine engineering mechanics from Brunoll University.

He has successively served as the Managing Director of Shenzhen Chiwan Petroleum Base, the Managing Director of China Nanshan Development (Group) Co., Ltd., the Managing Director and Vice President of China Merchants Group, and has served as the Chairman of China Merchants Group, the Chairman of China Merchants Bank, the Chairman of China Merchants International, the Independent Non-Executive Director of CapitaLand and the Independent Non-Executive Director of Li & Fung Hong Kong.

He joined China Resources Group in 2014 and is currently the Chairman of China Resources Group, a member of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the China Business Council of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), an Honorary President of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, a Director of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority of Hong Kong, a member of the Chief Executive's Innovation and Strategic Development Advisory Panel, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Resources Pharmaceutical Group.

Fu Yuning, born in March 1957, holds a Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering from Brunoll University, UK. He was the chairman of China Merchants Group, the chairman of China Merchants International, the chairman of China Merchants Bank, and the chairman of China Nanshan Development (Group) Co., Ltd. He used to be the executive deputy general manager of Shenzhen Chiwan Petroleum Base Co., Ltd., the chairman of Chiwan Port and Shipping Co., Ltd., the general manager of China Nanshan Development (Group) Co., Ltd., the chairman of Hong Kong Union Bank, the vice president of China Merchants Group, and the president of China Merchants Group.

He received his bachelor's degree from Dalian University of Technology in 1981 and his Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering Mechanics from Brunoll University in 1986.

He has successively served as the managing director of Shenzhen Chiwan Petroleum Base, the managing director of China Nanshan Development (Group) Co., Ltd., and the managing director and vice president of China Merchants Group.

From April 1988 to April 1991, he successively served as the assistant to the general manager and the executive deputy general manager of Shenzhen Chiwan Petroleum Base Co., Ltd.

From April 1991 to December 1998, he successively served as the general manager of China Nanshan Development (Group) Co., Ltd. and the chairman of Shenzhen Chiwan Port & Shipping Co., Ltd.;

Since December 1998, he has successively served as Executive Director, Vice President, President, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Merchants Group. He has served as the chairman of China Merchants International (Hong Kong stock code: 0144), the chairman of China Merchants China ****** (Hong Kong stock code: 0133), the chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors of China Merchants Bank, the chairman of China Merchants Shekou Industrial Zone, the chairman of China Nanshan Development (Group) Co., Ltd., and the director of Hong Kong Port Development Council.

He is currently the director and president of China Merchants Group, and also serves as the chairman and managing director of China Merchants International, a Hong Kong-listed company, the chairman of China Merchants China ******, a Hong Kong-listed company, and the chairman of Shenzhen Chiwan Petroleum Base Co., Ltd. and China Merchants Shipping Co., Ltd., which are listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

On August 23, 2010, China Merchants Group held a cadre meeting in Hong Kong, announcing the removal of Qin Xiao as chairman of China Merchants Group and his replacement by Fu Yuning. At the same time, Fu Yuning was dismissed from the post of president of China Merchants Group, and Li Jianhong was appointed as director and president of China Merchants Group.

On April 23, 2014, the official website of China Resources Group announced that Fu Yuning, the former chairman of China Merchants Group, was transferred to the position of chairman of China Resources (Group) and removed Song Lin as chairman of China Resources (Group). On the same day, China Merchants announced that Fu Yuning would no longer serve as the chairman of China Merchants Group; President Li Jianhong temporarily presided over the overall work of China Merchants Group.
