Highlights of Gulliver s Travels 5

Gulliver's Travels consists of 4 volumes.

1. The protagonist Gulliver is a surgeon who travels to the sea, falls into the water due to shipwreck, and drifts to Lilliputia in a coma, where everything is one-twelfth the size of ours. The man here is less than six inches long, and he is in it like a towering mountain. The small court was full of intrigue and strife.

2. Soon after Gulliver returned home, he went to sea again with the "Adventure", but unfortunately encountered a storm again, and the ship was blown to Brobdingnag (the kingdom of adults). Gulliver is caught by a 20-meter-tall peasant. The peasants took Gulliver to exhibitions in major cities across the country, and finally to the capital.

The farmer was so hungry for money that he asked Gulliver to perform 10 times a day, and he was so tired that he was dying.

When the peasant saw that it was unprofitable, he sold Gulliver to the queen. Due to his small size, Gulliver was very favored in the court, but he was often attacked by rats, birds, and other animals. In the face of the king, Gulliver complacently introduced all aspects of the situation in England and the history of the past hundred years, but the king denied them one by one.

In his third year in the country, Gulliver accompanied the king on his tour of the frontier. Homesick, he pretended to be sick and came to the beach to get some fresh air. The eagle in the sky mistakenly took the box he was living in for a turtle and took it in his mouth.

Several eagles fought in the air, and the box fell into the sea and was found by a passing ship, and after Gulliver was rescued, he returned to England by boat.

3. Gulliver's third outing, attacked by pirates, fled to the flying island country, where everything is very different from Britain and Europe, the people have strange appearances, strange clothes, and the buildings are all crooked. With the exception of astronomy, all other scientific studies were absurd and the people lived in hardship, and he later encountered a wandering Dutch ship and returned to England.

4. Five months after Levor returned home, he was hired as the captain of the "Adventure" and sailed again. On the way, the sailors rebelled, imprisoned him for several months, and then exiled to the "Wisdom Country". Here, Gulliver is besieged by a beast named "Jehu" that resembles a man.

Thankfully, a wise horse, Hui Chu, came to his rescue.

It turns out that the horse is the rational inhabitant and ruler of the country, and the "Jehu" is the animal that the horse raises and serves. Gulliver's manners and words seemed to the people of the "Wisdom Horse" country to be a rational "Jehu", and thus aroused their interest. Gulliver quickly learned that.

In Chinese, at the invitation of his master, he spoke of horses as beasts in other parts of the world, while "Jehu" like him was rational and the owner of horses. This shocked Hui Chu.

Influenced by the virtues of "Wisdom Horse", Gulliver is bent on staying in the country of "Wisdom Horse". However, the National Congress of the "Wise" State passed a resolution to eliminate Jehu there. So Gulliver's wish could not be fulfilled.
