A multimeter is a portable instrument that integrates voltmeter, ammeter and ohmmeter, which can be divided into two categories: pointer multimeter and digital multimeter. The multimeter has many functions, but it mainly measures the three basic electrical parameters of voltage, current, and resistance, so it is also called a three-purpose meter. According to the different measurement objects, the user can select by toggling the gear range selection switch of the multimeter, and the outline diagram of the pointer multimeter is shown in Figure 1-38.

1) Familiarize yourself with the meaning of the symbols on the dial and the main functions of each knob and selector switch.
2) Carry out mechanical zeroing.
3) According to the type and size of the measurement object, select the gear and range of the transfer switch, and find the corresponding scale mark.
4) Select the location of the pen jack.

If you turn the knob to the voltage, it is the voltmeter, and if you turn it to the current, it is the ammeter, and if you turn it to the resistance, it is the resistance meter. I don't know what other functions there are......

4. Detailed explanation of the use of multimeter.
1."Introduction to the use of multimeter, to provide you with the introduction of the use of the multimeter**and the corresponding information**, to test whether the battery is charged with a multimeter as an example: insert the black meter pen into the com hole, and the red meter pen into the voltage resistance hole.
2.Press the power button to turn on the multimeter, and click the voltage test gear.
3.Use the red test wire to connect the positive terminal of the battery, and the black test wire to connect the negative terminal of the battery.
4.If the number is displayed, the battery is charged, and if the number is displayed, the battery is dead.

1. Before each measurement, the multimeter should be placed horizontally, observe the pointer on the zero scale of the voltage block on the left side of the dial, if the pointer does not point to zero, you can use the screw to fine-tune the mechanical zero screw of the meter head to make the pointer point to zero.
2. Insert the red and black watch pens into the multimeter jack correctly. Depending on the object to be measured (current, voltage, resistance, etc.), the transfer switch should be shifted to the gear to be measured, and it must not be misplaced. If the size of the measured object is not accurate, it should be dialed to the maximum range block to test the test to protect the meter head from damage, and then adjust to the appropriate range for measurement, so as to reduce the error in the measurement.
3. When measuring DC voltage or DC current, if you are not clear about the positive and negative polarity of the circuit under test, you can put the transfer switch knob in the highest gear, gently touch the circuit under test with a meter pen during measurement, and observe the deflection direction of the pointer at the same time, so as to determine the positive and negative poles of the circuit.
4. When measuring, if it is not clear whether the voltage to be measured is AC or DC, you can first estimate the highest gear of the AC voltage block to get the approximate range of voltage, and then use the DC voltage block of the appropriate range to measure, if the meter head does not deflect at this time, it can be judged to be AC voltage, if there is a reading, it is DC voltage.
5. When measuring current and voltage, when the maximum value of measured current and voltage is known, the indication value of the meter pointer should be greater than half of the range, and the error of the measurement result is small.
6. When measuring voltage, you must choose the gear correctly, and never put it on the current or electric block, so as not to cause damage to the multimeter.
7. When measuring the electrical components with high resistance value, do not touch the two ends of the resistance with both hands, so as not to connect the human body resistance in parallel to the component to be measured, resulting in a large measurement error.
8. When measuring the resistance in the circuit, be sure to cut off the power supply first, and disconnect one end of the resistance from the circuit before measuring. If there is a capacitor with a large capacity in the part of the circuit to be measured, the capacitor should be discharged before measuring the resistance.
The bad part is the transformer, the transformer in the circuit can be used for the audio output transformer for transistor radio, the secondary is used as the primary of the step-up transformer, the tap in the middle of the primary is not used, and the taps at both ends are used as the secondary of the step-up transformer. If you can't find a suitable transformer, you can also use the silicon steel sheet of the radio output transformer to make your own, and use a high-strength enameled wire with a diameter of 0 25mm for 110 turns for the primary stage, and a high-strength enameled wire with a diameter of 0 21mm for 520 turns for the secondary. A layer of insulating paper should be added between the primary stages, and attention should be paid to the eponymous end of the primary stage coil. >>>More
