Soft-shelled turtles generally live in oceans or lakes, and it is recommended to use natural water such as river water and lake water when raising them at home.
When raising soft-shelled turtles at home, it is necessary to prepare a large tank for it, preferably a rectangular glass fish tank or a large sorting box, the healthy growth of soft-shelled turtles needs sufficient sunlight, it is recommended to place the fish tank on the balcony facing south, and the bottom of the tank is covered with a layer of ceramsite, pebbles, etc.
If you choose tap water at home, you need to let it sit for 2 days to remove chlorine.
Every time you change the water for the soft-shelled turtle, pay attention to only change 1 2, and the frequency is once every 2-3 days.

1. Pave the bottom of the fish tank with fine sand and stones, and set up a small island above the water in the fish tank. 2. Choose river water with clean water quality or pond water, reservoir water and lake water for aquaculture. 3. Feed twice a day, the volume of food each time is similar to the size of the head of the soft-shelled turtle, and the bait can choose small fish, small shrimp, minced fish, snail mussel meat or artificial compound feed.
4. Change the water every 3-5 days, keep half of the old water and add half of the new water each time.
1. How to raise soft-shelled turtles at home
1. Prepare a large fish tank, place it in a sunny and ventilated place, lay a layer of fine sand and stone at the bottom of the fish tank, and set up a small island above the water surface in the fish tank for the soft-shelled turtle to go ashore to rest and dry its back (soft-shelled turtle is an amphibian, and it needs to kill the pathogenic bacteria on the surface of the nail back by drying its back).
2. The aquaculture water in the fish tank is generally selected from river water with clean water quality, or pond water, reservoir water and lake water. If you want to use tap water, you need to expose it to the sun for about 1-2 days to remove chlorine from the water.
3. The bait of soft-shelled turtle includes small fish, small shrimp, minced fish, snail mussel meat or artificial compound feed, and an appropriate amount of vegetable leaves can also be fed. Twice a day, each feeding is similar in size to the head size of the turtle.
4. The water should not be changed too frequently, and the water should be changed every 3-5 days or so. Keep half of the old water at a water change and add half of the new water.
5. If the food is not finished, the food residue should be cleaned out of the fish tank as soon as possible to avoid affecting the water quality.
6. An appropriate amount of aquatic plants can be planted in the fish tank for soft-shelled turtles to hide.
2. What conditions are needed to raise soft-shelled turtles?
1. Ponds. (1) The area of the pond should be about 5 acres, the slope ratio is 1:2, the bottom of the pond is flat, the thickness of the silt is about 25cm, and the water depth is controlled within 1m.
2) Plant an appropriate amount of aquatic plants in the pond, and at the same time set up a small island in the pond for soft-shelled turtles to dry their backs and rest.
3) Set up a bait table in the pond, the table is 15-25cm above the water surface, and the inclined side extends to 20-30cm below the water surface.
2. Water source. The water source is sufficient, the oxygen dissolved amount is more than 5mg l, the pH is stable between, the alkalinity and hardness are stable, the ammonia nitrogen content should not be exceeded, the nitrite content should not be exceeded, and the pool water transparency control word is about 25-30cm.
3. Anti-escape facilities.
The pond wall is tamped, and the anti-escape wall is built around it, the wall is about 40cm higher than the pond ridge, the top of the wall is 10cm inward, and the inner wall is smooth.
The breeding method is as follows:
It is best to sell some small fish, shrimp or snail meat first, which will be more suitable for the food eaten when surviving in the wild. The water level should not exceed A, and it is better to put something like a rock above the water. Keep the water clean at all times. >>>More
Water is the space that soft-shelled turtles rely on for survival, and they mainly rely on water to provide various substances that support life-sustaining activities. The quality and state of the water environment directly affects all stages of its life and all aspects of life. >>>More

Soft-shelled turtles generally hibernate from early November to around May of the following year. Soft-shelled turtles like to hibernate in soft sand and need to be prepared with sand. If you add water, you will make a slope with small stones, and put the water in half of the stones. >>>More
