The African bush elephant (loxdontaafricana) is busy avoiding angry bees. The researchers hope to use this trait of elephants as a safe strategy to keep elephants away from human settlements.
Studies have found that when bees sense a threat, they release a chemical known as pheromones. For bees, these natural warning signs notify their partners to come to their aid and take defensive action, known as a sting.
Humans seem to lack pheromone receptors, so we can't detect and receive such chemical signals, but elephants can. Scientists realized that elephants are likely to keep their distance from bees if they can sense the alarm pheromones coming from bees.
To test this theory, the researchers placed a sock near a waterhole frequented by elephants in the park, filled with an extended-release matrix containing a mixture of bee alert pheromones.
They approached the sock by 25 of the 29 elephants and examined it briefly from a distance, then retreated in fear. However, when confronted with another sock that looked like it didn't contain bee alarm pheromones, the elephants behaved carefree, with some elephants picking it up and others even trying to eat it.
Scientists believe that elephants are afraid of bees because they don't like to be bitten in the soft tissues around their noses and eyes. As elephants have evolved, scientists suspect that these large creatures have learned to recognize and distinguish pheromones from bee alerts in order to avoid painful stings.
Human populations are steadily increasing in areas of Africa and Asia where elephant habitats overlap, making it important to develop safe elephant management strategies that help prevent conflict. While they found that bee pheromones can repel elephants, scientists are unsure of what other problems the technology would be with large-scale use, and they continue to study how to use it to rationally and safely keep elephants away from farmland and human settlements.

Elephants are not afraid of wasp stings, but they are afraid of a swarm of wasps, and any animal is afraid of such harassment.
-
Neither of these two animals is afraid of anyone, if an elephant stabs a honeycomb, it is also as afraid of stinging as a human, and if it does not move the honeycomb, it will not know that it is afraid.

Elephants have no animals to be afraid of.
The elephant is at the top of the food chain and, in general, it has no natural predators. But old lone elephants and young elephants will be attacked by lions and hyenas. Their main external features are a flexible and muscular proboscis and large flapped ears, which have the function of winding and are powerful tools for self-defense and feeding.
Asian elephants are 2 to 4 meters tall at the shoulder and weigh 3 to 5 tons. African elephants are 3 to 4 meters tall at the shoulder and weigh up to 8 tons. The average height of African forest elephants does not exceed a metre and their weight is tonn.
The elephant's head is large, the ears are as large as a fan, the limbs are as thick as a cylinder to support the huge body, the knee joints cannot be flexed and extended freely, the nose length is almost equal to the body length, it is cylindrical, and it can be extended and flexed freely; The trunk is made entirely of muscles, with nostrils opening at the end and finger-like protrusions at the tip of the nose that can pick up objects, and the trunk is very flexible and can pick up objects weighing up to 1 ton, as well as small foods as small as peanuts.

Elephants are afraid of lions.
The lion is the second largest cat in the world, with a male lion weighing about 180,220 kilograms and a female weighing about 130,200 kilograms. But lions usually live in packs, with a pack of about 8 to 30 wrecking members, with an average of 17, with the largest recorded group being a group of 30 lions in Botswana.
When there is plenty of prey, lions will not attack elephants because elephants are so difficult to mess with, and their long trunks, legs, and tusks can kill and injure lions. But not necessarily when there is not enough food in the dry season, and as far as the eye can see, what else can you eat in the arid savannah, except for elephants?
Lions select elephants based on the following:
First of all, the old, weak, sick and disabled elephants or baby elephants are the priority targets; Secondly, it must be a lone elephant. Lions usually attack elephants at night because at night elephants do not see clearly during the day, and lions are more likely to sneak attack. Normally, male lions are also involved in attacking elephants, which has a greater chance of success.
As with other prey, the lions surround the elephant, with several experienced lions jumping on the elephant's back and biting them, while other lions wait for an opportunity to move. The lion's canine teeth are not enough to bite the elephant's neck, so it can only wear down the elephant's physical strength by stalking him, and finally knock the elephant down.
There are few examples of lions successfully capturing elephants, as a herd of 30 lions in Botswana has hunted elephants; In Zambia's South Rwangua National Park, 14 lions rounded up a baby elephant, which fought and retreated, guiding the lions to the river and finally escaping.
But the other baby elephant was not so lucky, this baby elephant was in a dehydrated and weak state, with a bunch of lions on its back, and finally fell down tired. It can be seen that in the face of lions, elephants can save their lives by taking the right measures.
