Have you ever seen a gnome giraffe? In 2015, a giraffe measuring only one meter tall was spotted in Mochisen Falls National Park in Uganda, and it was an adult male. Know that the normal adult male giraffe is close to five meters tall, and they are the tallest known mammals on Earth.

Initially, biologists couldn't believe it was true and named it Manager. The manager's neck is of normal length, except that its legs are so short that it looks like someone has put a giraffe's neck on a horse's body. Gnome towns are rare among wild animals, and it is not easy for giraffes to reach adulthood because their short legs deprive them of two of the giraffe's survival skills, namely running fast and kicking, and are obviously less likely to survive when attacked by predators.

The first was spotted in 2013 as an adult male Asian elephant who was only a meter tall and so short compared to another medium-sized male Asian elephant, and another dwarf elephant was an adult female, although it was more mysterious and was only seen through surveillance cameras in 2018.

Both of these rare gnome statues are typical of the wild dwarf town. One such species is the Borneo pygmy elephants living in Borneo, Malay Peninsula, which belong to a subspecies of Asian elephants and are thought to have been brought in from elsewhere by humans in the 18th century. Due to their relative isolation, limited resources, and lack of predators or competition, they no longer needed to be large and evolved into the short statures they are today.

The dwarf boar is a very noble breed in the wild boar family, why is it called a dwarf? Its size is too small compared to the wild boar, which can easily weigh hundreds of kilograms. How small are dwarf boars?

At only 50 centimeters in length, about 25 centimeters in height, and weighing only about 5 kilograms, it is about the same size as a rabbit, and it is the smallest pig in the world. Several dwarfs in the animal world include Asian dwarf elephants, dachshunds, and skinny chameleons, all of which are caused by congenital underdevelopment due to lack of resources.

Asian dwarf elephants, it is known that adult Asian dwarf elephants are only about meters tall, which is lower than the height of normal people. Although their legs are a little shorter and thicker, they are no different from Asian elephants in other parts. It can be seen that not all elephants in the world are behemoths, and there are also special species.

In daily life, we can occasionally see some "dachshunds", they have long bodies and short legs, and to some extent, they are also a reflection of shortness.

There are dwarf hedgehogs, dwarf raccoons, dwarf seahorses, dwarf goats, etc. They become like this mainly because of environmental problems, because of limited resources, the reproductive rate decreases, and the size of the offspring will become smaller and smaller.

The pituitary gland does not secrete enough growth hormone, and too much can lead to gigantism.
