"Tingjing" is Zeng Guofan's last work before his death, but unfortunately Zeng Guofan died before it was finished. It is a detailed record of Zeng Guofan's way of dealing with the world in the ups and downs of the Huan Sea. The so-called "strong", that is, the momentum is inexhaustible, the merit cannot be enjoyed exclusively, the name should be pushed a few points, and the trouble should be done when it is in its heyday. You can't go any further; Lack is perfection in itself.
Zeng Guofan's achievements in the world and his ability to protect himself in the face of public criticism and slander are all thanks to the word "Ting". Take the initiative and actively participate in everything, but enter the WTO with an indifferent heart of birth, seek a way out in distress, and seek to stand up in hardship. In this way, when there is a "tiger" in front of you and a "poisonous snake" in the back, you can not be influenced by it, and reach the highest state of life with peace of mind and leisure.
The "Ting Sutra" has a total of eighteen chapters, and it is also the eighteen Heart Sutras carefully summarized by Zeng Guofan.
The word "Ting" highly summarizes the essence of Zeng Guofan's way of doing things: be a low-key person, do things in a high-profile manner, and leave room for everything; indifferent to fame and fortune, not arrogant, not monopolizing fame, knowing how to share with others; We must look to the future, have a sense of adversity, make long-term plans, know how to advance and retreat, and not be proud of our success; Don't pursue perfection in everything, what is lacking is true perfection; In the predicament, we still stick to our original intention and be a strong person, never give up, continue to work hard, not be influenced by others, not be affected by the outside, and be calm and relaxed in order to reach the highest state of life.
Chapter 1: The Inner Saint.
As the opening work, I first summarize the four aspects of self-cultivation of the ancients:
1. Be cautious and alone, then you will be open-minded: that is, you must suppress your selfish desires, even if they are small desires, and you must act according to the principles of nature, and always introspect, so that your heart will be calm.
2. If you are dignified and respectful, you will be physically strong: the appearance is neat and serious, the inner mind is single-minded, and you are always respectful and solemn, so your body is strong.
3. The pursuit of benevolence and righteousness will be pleasing to the people: there is a mind to love the people and cherish things, and the people will be satisfied.
4. If you stick to sincerity, the gods will admire: the heart is loyal and firm, and the words are honest and undeceiving, so that you can sense all things, so the gods also admire.
Then interpreting the connotation of the word "independence", the author believes that the gentleman and the villain are both acting alone, but the gap is very large.
The villain alone will have the idea of "non-separation", and if he accumulates too much, he will act arbitrarily, so he will start to do bad things and bully people.
When a gentleman is alone, he will have sincere thoughts, and when he accumulates more, he will be cautious, and constantly reflect on and correct his inappropriate words and deeds.
Finally, the principles of self-cultivation and governing the country and the four realms of the old man of the Holy Tomb were expounded.
1. Four proverbs: Be diligent in political affairs; frugality in the house; The word is faithful and reliable; Act with sincerity and without deception.
These four sentences are life-long and endless.
2. The four realms of sage virtue:
1) Cheng Zi's proposition: sincerity and humility, pay attention to self-cultivation and give birth to wisdom and wisdom.
2) Zisi's testament: Sincerely move the gods and be born with knowledge.
3) The gist of Confucius, Yan Hui, Zengzi, and Mencius: to be happy and healthy and carefree.
4) Tao Yuanming, Bai Juyi, Su Shi, and Lu You's joy of life: appreciating the beauty of nature, chanting poetry, and having a comfortable will and a happy spirit.

If you think carefully about the efforts made by the ancients in self-cultivation, there are probably four things that have achieved particularly remarkable results: if you are cautious and alone, you will be calm-minded; If you are solemn and respectful, you will be physically strong; If you pursue benevolence and righteousness, you will be happy and convinced; If you are sincere, the gods will also respect him. Zeng Guofan believes that self-cultivation kung fu should be based on "sincerity".
That is, there is "sincerity" that can transform all things in heaven and earth, and seeking sincerity must not be deceived, and those who do not deceive must be able to live in respect and prudence, and those who are respectful and cautious must be selfless. In order to achieve the best state of the "inner sage" mind, he used the "Twelve Lessons of Cultivation" to restrain his body and mind.
1. Hold on to yourself. That is, to keep neat and tidy, to be upright and serious, and to be vigilant at all times, to check whether there is any deviation from righteousness in one's thoughts and behaviors. When there is nothing to do on weekdays, we should be quiet and calm, and maintain morality; When you put things into your work, you need to be focused.
2. Meditation. That is, every day at any time, we should take out the practice of meditation and cultivation, and reflect on and realize the hidden benevolence and righteousness in our nature. and there can be no distractions.
3. Wake up early. It's just that you get up at dawn, and you can't love the bed.
Fourth, read single-mindedly. If you don't finish reading one book, don't read other books. Reading around is not beneficial to one's own learning.
5. Read history books.
6. Be cautious in your speech. The so-called misfortune comes from the mouth, and many people incur calamity because of this.
7. Take care of your body.
8. Acquire new knowledge every day. It is to record your own experience when you read a book every day.
9. Maintain true qi. "True qi" is "righteousness", that is, to be upright and worthy of one's heart.
10. Don't dilute old skills 10.
1. Practice writing 10.
2. Don't go out at night.

——The awakening proverbs of the inner saint and the outer king.
The road of life has ups and downs and smooth roads; There are times when people are proud and when they are low. In the midst of hardship, we should seek a way out, when we are proud, we should lower our seniority and seek long-term results, we should be calm and realistic in the center of hard fighting, and we should nourish our spirit and forge ahead when we are resting. There is no need to work hard in life.
The road is long, I will go up and down and seek!
