And the reason why Tang Seng in "Journey to the West" is called Tang Sanzang has been made very clear when Li Shimin said goodbye to him. At that time, the Bodhisattva came to the Tang Dynasty and told Li Shimin that the supreme classic of Buddhism is actually Mahayana Buddhism, and Mahayana Buddhism has "three Tibets". Therefore, Li Shimin gave Tang Seng a legal name "Tang Sanzang".
The first is to want Tang Seng to get Mahayana Buddhism back as soon as possible, so as to revitalize the Tang Dynasty. The second is to hope that Tang Seng will not forget his original intention because of this Dharma name, and will not give up halfway. However, whether it is the Sanzang in "Journey to the West" or the Sanzang in the real world, they actually refer to the same thing.
-
Sanzang refers to the scriptures, laws, and treatises, and Tang Seng has been proficient in the Sanzang classics before taking the scriptures, so it is called Sanzang.
-
The so-called three Tibetan Tibetan refers to containers, barns, cages, etc., and the name of the Bodhisattva Tibetan is the immeasurable instrument, which is the infinite giving, smelling, precepts, concentration, and wisdom of the knowledge device, so the name is called the Bodhisattva Zhenzang.
-
According to records, the three collections in the Tang Dynasty refer to the three sacred scriptures, namely the law, the treatise, and the scriptures.

Main content: , Wuxing Mountain, Wukong three people, will be the east brother in the future, and the white dragon will do the foot power for the people who learn the scriptures. The old dragon of Jinghe was beheaded because of the lack of rainfall due to gambling hexagrams, and he violated the rules of heaven and begged Tang Taizong to save his life.
Wei Zheng Cheng dreamed of killing the dragon of the Jing River, and the soul of Taizong was chased into the Yin Division to testify, and after his death, he built the "Water and Land Conference", and asked Chen Xuanzang to perform the Dharma and perform the wonderful scriptures. Guanyin appeared, pointing out that Chen Xuanzang went to the west to get the true scriptures. Tang Taizong recognized Xuanzang as his royal brother and gave him the name Sanzang.
Tang Sanzang traveled westward, fell into the devil's cave when he left the border, and was caught by the tiger spirit, the bison spirit, and the bear spirit. Later, he encountered a fierce tiger, was rescued by Orion Liu Boqin, and was entertained by his family. Liu Boqin escorted the Tang monk to the Liangjie Mountain (i.e., the Five Elements Mountain).
When he met Sun Wukong who was waiting for a lot of filial piety, he explained the reason, Tang Seng unveiled the golden word press post of Rulai in the Five Elements Mountain, rescued Sun Wukong, and gave the number of the walker. Later, Sun Wukong was blamed by Tang Seng for killing six thieves and ran away in a rage. Tang Seng was granted by Guanyin Bodhisattva the mantra of tightening hoops and centering (mantras).
Sun Wukong learned the story of "Three Advances in the Bridge" from the Dragon King, understood it, and returned to Tang Seng. Tang Seng coaxed Sun Wukong to put on a tight hoop and silently recited the hoop mantra, which finally made Sun Wukong desperately willing to protect Tang Seng to go west, and there was no intention of repenting.
