And before you start adding Windows Server 2012 R2 devices, check and verify that your current domain and forest have Windows Server 2003 level capabilities.
The next step is to add one or more computers running the Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system to the root zone of the forest. It's a good idea to add more than one, because in the event of an unforeseen situation, you can have two new domain controllers to back it up. In fact, most server administrators tend to do this to be prepared for the unexpected.
Configure static IP addresses on these computers. While fundamentally unnecessary, your new domain controller may take on other roles such as DNS. It's generally a good idea to put them together, rather than being subject to DHCP.
Add the Active Directory Domain Services role to these computers. Then run the Domain Controller Configuration Wizard. Be careful not to run and run on the command line. The Domain Controller Upgrade Wizard installs all domains, forests, and schema preparations.
Make sure that you add the computer as a domain controller to the existing root domain, not as a new domain controller. Once the installation is complete, reboot to make sure you can log in smoothly, and then start the second computer configuration.

The Database and Log File Folder wizard page is displayed, where you can select the location of the Active Directory database and logs, which are stored in the %systemroot% ntds folder by default, or you can click the Browse button to select a different storage location. Click Next.
The Shared System Volumes wizard page pops up, specifying the location of the sysvol folder, which must be stored in the NTFS partition, otherwise the installation will not work. Once you're set up, click Next.
The Permissions wizard page is displayed, where you can select the default permissions for users and group objects. This is the default, click Next.
The Administrator Password for Directory Services Restore Mode wizard page pops up. In this case, you need to specify the administrator password in the directory service restore mode. Click "Next" to pop up the "Summary" wizard page, where a summary of the results of the above steps will be given (now the computer is still doing any configuration work in the United States and Europe), at this time, if you want to modify the previous configuration, just click the "Previous" button.
At this point, click the "Next" button, and the system will start to install Active Directory. Wait for the installation to complete and reboot.
It should be a ghost or a system recovery partition.
