Because when the Tiger King was just born and participated in the battle, there was no tank that could compete with it, the strongest firepower and the strongest armor, almost invincible.
There was once a Tiger King who eliminated more than 60 tanks of the allies before it was destroyed, of course, there was an element of outstanding ability of the crew, but the most material basis, the power of the Tiger King was definitely a nightmare for the world's armored forces at that time.

In May 1944, the "King Tiger" tank entered the battle near Minsk for the first time, and then in July it fought in Poland, and two companies of the 503rd Tank Battalion's "King Tiger" tanks also participated in the Battle of Normandy, and due to technical reasons, the two companies suffered a devastating blow, and by the end of August 1944, both companies of the "King Tiger" tanks were all destroyed. After that, the "King Tiger" tank participated in many battles on the Eastern and Western Fronts until the Battle of Berlin in April and May 1945.

The German heavy tank development program first began in 1937, proposed by the German Armaments Development Agency, and issued the specific performance requirements of the new heavy tank to four German companies, namely: Daimler-Benz, Henschel, MAN, and Porsche (Porsche).
On May 26, 1941, at a military conference convened by Hitler, the development plan for the new heavy tank was officially launched. At this meeting, Hitler put forward the design requirements of the new heavy tank: it has a powerful firepower to penetrate enemy tanks, thick protective armor that enemy tanks cannot penetrate, and a maximum speed of not less than 40 kilometers per hour.
The decision of this meeting led to the development of two German heavy tanks during World War II, which were the Tiger 1 and the Tiger King (Tiger 2). The success of the Tiger 1 on the battlefield slowed down the development of the Tiger King, and it was not until January 1943 that the design of a new heavy tank to replace the Tiger 1 really began. Although it is believed that the King Tiger (Tiger 2) is the successor and replacement of the Tiger 1, in fact the King Tiger and the Tiger 1 are two completely different heavy tanks.
The original design intention of the Tiger King was to consider the installation of a high-power, high-reliability tank gun, and on the basis of the Tiger 1's 88mm L56 caliber tank gun, the Germans developed a more powerful 88mm L71 caliber tank gun. The design of the King Tiger tank was eventually carried out by two German companies: the Henschel company in Kassel, Germany (a city in eastern Germany), and Stuttgart, Germany (a city in the southwest of Germany, the capital of Baden-Württemberg).
