Is the judging of the Good Contemporary Design Award fair and impartial?

The judging process is based on more than 60 years of professional judging experience of the Red Dot Award, with 12 senior international judges focusing on whether each product meets the top international standards, rather than competing with each other.

The Red Dot Design Award is well-known in design circles because of its strict judging criteria, rules and highly professional judging process. All judges must sign the Code of Honor. This means that the jury cannot judge his own work, or even submit his own design in the product in his category.

This may sound like a no-brainer, but it's not. Juries of many other design awards submit their entries for submission. They only leave the judging room when their works are being judged, but this still makes it difficult to ensure the objectivity and fairness of the awards.

That's why the Red Dot Design Award has stricter rules in this regard.

The independent review of the Red Dot selection also does not include employees in their respective industries. All Red Dot judges are independent designers, design teachers, professors, or design journalists. Because of their independence, Red Dot is able to guarantee the fairness and impartiality of the judging.

Based on the principles of fairness, impartiality and openness, the Organizing Committee of the "Good Contemporary Design" Award will announce the competition schedule and final results on the official website of the "Good Contemporary Design" Award and related communications. The organizing committee has the final right to interpret and judge this event, if there is a dispute with the work, you can call the organizing committee to report, and provide corresponding evidence as evidence (such as plagiarized documents related to the work), once verified, the qualification of the winners, certificates and trophies will be cancelled.

No matter what kind of review, they value quality, craftsmanship, creativity, and appearance, and they should be "easy to use" and "good-looking".

Manufacturers and designers from all over the world who have entered the mass production stage (i.e. the product must be in mass production by November 2019) are eligible to apply. The entry must not be on the market for more than 3 years (i.e. no earlier than May 2016). There is no limit to the number of products that can be registered by each participant.

Special products that are not industrially produced are not allowed to enter the competition.

The Contemporary good Design Award (CGD) is an international design award initiated by Red Dot in Germany in 2015, aiming to select good designs for the contemporary society and hope to provide the best quality services for the winners. Red Dot uses more than 60 years of experience in the operation of top international design awards and design resources to ensure the professionalism, seriousness and authority of the "Contemporary Good Design" award.

Since its inception in 2015, CGD has been successfully held for four consecutive years, and has received more than 10,000 works from more than 30 countries and regions around the world. In 2019, the CGD Awards category was increased to 49 categories, including a new packaging design category.
