The first step is to make a skeleton. The relatively simple shape of a paper lantern is a cube or cylinder, and it is best to use bamboo branches or bamboo bark that can be bent to form a frame, and tie the joints with thin wires. The second step is to make the lamp body. Buy a few pieces of white or red ordinary rice paper or sprinkle gold rice paper at the Four Treasures of the Study, cut them to the length and width of the lantern skeleton, and then you can design your own patterns. Calligraphy, painting, and paper-cutting can all be displayed on a small lantern.

After pasting, you can also use narrow strips of imitation silk paper to edge up and down, which looks more elegant, much like an ancient palace lamp. If you are not very good at calligraphy and painting, there is a simple way to refer to it. Use a piece of tissue paper to trace the desired character on the notebook, then overlap the tissue paper with crimson rice paper, and use a single-edged blade to dig out the handwriting.

When the tissue paper is removed, hollowed-out handwriting appears on the red rice paper. The body of the lamp is made of white rice paper, and the red rice paper is pasted inside, and the candlelight or light is reflected from the hollow, and the effect is quite beautiful.

The third step is to make a light source. The paper lantern handmade method is as follows:

2. Fold the cardboard into a cylinder, and staple the two ends of the cylinder with staples or glue. The circumference of the paper tube should be less than the width of the tissue paper.

3. Fold both ends of the width of the two sheets of tissue paper (with a slight imprint or draw a straight line with a pencil), and then use scissors or a paper cutter to cut the middle of the tissue paper into strips about 1 cm wide, and cut them to the imprint folded at both ends, do not cut through.

4. Then stick one end of the cut tissue paper to the end of the paper tube with glue or staples, and the two pieces of paper should be staggered and wound around the paper tube. The same is true at the other end.

5. Tie small holes at both ends of the paper tube with a sharp needle, tie a rope carrying a lantern at one end, and tie a red lamp spike at the other end.

Precautions: When making paper lanterns, whether it is paper cutting or paper cutting, you need to fold the traces, but do not fold the traces too much, and the imprint is not obvious, otherwise it will affect the appearance. 2. Fold a small part of the yellow paper horizontally and tear it off, roll up the remaining paper along the long side, and fix the opening with a stapler. Note: The stapler at this step can also be replaced with white latex or glue sticks.

3. Coat the two long sides of the cut red paper with white latex, and roll them up around the yellow straight tube as shown in the figure below.

4. Paste a slender red paper strip to make the lantern handle, and the colored paper lantern will be made.

By matching different colors of cardboard and fine-tuning the shape, the lantern can be endlessly varied.

Cardboard lanterns.

Materials. 4 sheets of red cardboard (slightly harder).

1 pair of safety scissors.

1 stapler, 1 hairy root.

1 white latex or glue stick.

Production Steps:

1. Each red cardboard is cut into 3 small rectangles on average, and 4 cardboards are cut into 12 small rectangles.

2. Fold the small rectangular cardboard in half along the horizontal and vertical directions.
