New hard drive? If it's an old one, replace it.
-
The bigger the hard drive, the more problems there are.
-
A seek error is a failure of the hard disk's mechanical system, which is a physical failure. The seek error rate refers to the number of times a seek error occurs per unit of time and the total number of seek errors.
If the seek error rate is low, the hard disk read speed will be slower. A seek error is a failure of the mechanical system of a hard disk, which is one of the physical faults (solid hard disks.
There is no such problem), so it cannot be eliminated by software repair, and can only be repaired or replaced.

Normal can be, the landlord does not have to worry, the hard disk seek itself is not a successful drop every time,

Seek error rate: the write error rate of hard disk data, the error rate of hard disk power off, the seek error rate of hard disk and other information, based on this information, you can make a reasonable evaluation of the current health status of the hard disk. For example, if the limit of the hard drive's read error rate is 25 and the worst value is 60, but the HDTune program actually detects a read error rate of 68, you can't infer that the drive must have been used before, and the health condition at this time is not as good as when it first left the factory, so you better not buy such a hard drive.
The reason for the high error rate is that there is a problem with the liquid drive motor of the hard disk. Generally speaking, if the seek error rate is high, the reading is extremely unstable.

The hard disk has bad sectors, it is recommended to use MHDD to detect it, it will be more accurate.

Seagate Hard Drive Fatal Error is a common hardware failure that can be caused by damage to the hardware itself or due to damage to the system software. If your Seagate hard drive reports a fatal error, you can try the following:1
Check whether the power connection of the hard disk is normal; 2.Check whether the data cable of the hard disk is damaged; 3.Check the hard drive for damaged heads; 4.
Check whether the controller of the hard disk is damaged; 5.Check if the firmware of the hard drive is corrupted; 6.Check the system software of the hard drive for corruption.
If your hard drive still reports a fatal error, you can try reinstalling the system or reformat the drive. If the above still does not solve your problem, you can try to take the hard drive to a professional repair shop for testing and repair.

It's not that the hard drive is good or bad, no matter what the manufacturer's goods, there will be more or less excellent and defective products.
This is inevitable for any factory home. Special phenomena can also occur during transportation that cause hard disk failures.
In the domestic market, many **business** have different guarantees for the same kind of hard disks, from one year to three years. The service attitude is also different, so no matter what brand of hard drive, buying a reassuring hard drive is the main thing.
In this era of mature hard disk technology, the quality of hard disks from any manufacturer is excellent.
Otherwise, it will not be able to gain a foothold in the market competition. And each manufacturer has its own technical focus.
As far as I have used the hard drive, make a review.
Seagate's hard drives generate a lot of heat and make a lot of noise, but they are really fast, and Hitachi hard drives have moderate heat and little sound.
Maxtor hard drive is decent, (two Maxtor, 7 years.) I don't know how Maxtor is doing now).

Hard disk seek refers to the behavior of the head positioning to the specified track for reading and writing. If there is a problem with the head motor servo system, it will cause the positioning accuracy of the head to decrease, which will lead to the decline of the hard disk read and write performance, and even the positioning of the hard disk in severe cases. Seek errors can be caused by aging of the head servo system, failure, or some other reason.
The seek error is one of the faults of the mechanical system of the hard disk (the solid hard disk does not have this problem), so it cannot be eliminated by software repair, and can only be repaired or replaced. If the code detection tool detects a reading of item 07, it is most likely an indication that the hard disk has experienced a seek abnormality. If readings continue to increase over a period of time, or exceed thresholds, it is recommended to back up your data as soon as possible.

The test shows that there are bad sectors (more than 120 milliseconds), but there is no need to dwell on this. Let me briefly explain the principle of hard disk
Generally speaking, any new hard drive that leaves the factory definitely has bad sectors, and there is no perfect platter in the world. For example, if you just bought a brand new hard drive that hasn't been opened, there are actually a few bad areas in it. However, these physical bad areas, after factory assembly, are tested and recorded when the probe is inserted from the sidewall for initial low-level formatting, and written into the defect list in the flash ROM of the hard disk control circuit, and then the location of the bad area is mapped to the reserved hard disk space, that is, the bad area is replaced with the internally reserved good area.
But externally, you don't see any bad areas, it's a good hard drive, and you happily carry it home.
With the use of hard drives, due to the physical or chemical defects of the magnetic coating, new bad areas will gradually be generated on the surface of the disk, which is a natural phenomenon. These new bad areas, as long as they are not suddenly deteriorated (such as sudden damage caused by a forced power failure), can be found by the control software in the flash ROM on the hard disk, and then written into the defect list in the flash, and replaced with good reserved space.
Of course, the bad area is like age, there are more and more, to a certain extent, the list of defects in the flash ROM is full, at this time, the bad area that appears again, it can not be replaced with the good area, you will find that there is a bad area on the hard disk, and it will gradually increase in the future. There is a saying that once there is a bad area on the hard drive, it is slowly infected and gradually spreads to the surroundings, which is actually the manifestation of the above situation.
If there is really a bad area, causing you to start or run the program suddenly and obviously slow down, suddenly blue screen or freeze in use, at that time, you can replace the hard disk and copy the data out, and the data will not be lost.
So, don't dwell on this test result. Some testing software bypasses the mapping of the flash ROM on the hard disk to the list of defects, so it's normal to find out if there's a bad area, as long as it's normal for you to actually use it, you don't have to worry about it at all.
