The rubber on the surface of the runway is aged and degraded due to the action of light, oxygen or ozone, which causes the adhesion between the rubber and the filler to be lost, so that the surface pigments and fillers are precipitated out of the surface in powder form and faded. The addition of antioxidants to the surface rubber material can alleviate the pulverization of rubber.

3) The runway has poor air permeability, the moisture of the foundation migrates to the surface, or the polluted rainwater is retained on the surface of the runway, so that there are soluble alkali salts on the surface, and after the water evaporates, the saline-alkali weathering accumulation causes discoloration, and at the same time, the alkalinity causes discoloration due to the erosion of the pigment resin in the paint film.

4) The selected pigment has poor heat resistance. Some organic pigments decompose at high temperatures and fade their color.

5) The selected pigment has poor oxidation resistance. Some organic pigments gradually fade due to macromolecular degradation or other changes after oxidation.

6) Long-term friction during the use of the runway will also cause the surface pigment to fall off and fade.
