There are two commonly used methods for repairing damage to rubber conveyor belts, namely cold vulcanization repair and hot vulcanization repair. It is necessary for us to choose the appropriate repair method according to the conditions of the working conditions on the site.
One. Cold vulcanization repair operation process:
1: Polishing the damaged surface.
Use a repair strip that is 2-3cm wider than the damaged part, draw a marking line with the damaged part as the center, and prepare for sanding. Then polish the wound site until the surface of the injured site shows a certain curvature and there is no protrusion.
2: Clean the damaged surface.
The grinding surface is cleaned with a cleaning brush, and the grinding surface is deeply cleaned with cleaning agent SK353 until it dries.
3: Apply cold adhesive.
The damaged surface is coated with cold adhesive SK313 for the first time, and the second cold adhesive SK313 is applied after it is completely dry, and the adhesive surface of the semi-vulcanized layer of the repair strip is also painted with cold adhesive SK313, and the bonding can be started when the two are slightly sticky to the back of the finger.
4: Attach the patch strip.
The adhesive surface of the repair strip is laminated along the damaged surface, and air entrapment is avoided as much as possible during the lamination process.
5: Compacting the adhesive surface.
Compaction rollers are used to roll from the inside to the outside to exhaust and compact the air from the repair surface.
Two. Hot vulcanization repair operation process:
1.Draw the connector line.
According to the size of the damage of the conveyor belt, at least 15 20mm larger along the perimeter of the damage, draw a cutting and repair line, cut at an angle of 45 degrees, and peel off the damaged cover glue, and be careful not to damage the cloth layer or steel wire layer below when cutting.
2.Burnish. The damaged part of the conveyor belt is deeply polished with an angle grinder and tungsten steel grinding disc, and it is recommended to polish 3mm.
3.Cleaning. The sanded conveyor belt is cleaned with SK823 to ensure that the surface of the fabric layer or steel wire layer is clean.
4.Use a brush to evenly apply a layer of hot vulcanizing agent SK823 on the surface of the cleaned fabric layer or steel wire layer, which is required to be evenly and completely, without leakage, and let it dry completely.
5.Glue spreading. Spread the brushed tape with RIT core glue and RIT surface adhesive, and try to spread it flat when laying it to avoid bulging.
6.Vulcanization. Pressurized, heated vulcanization is performed using a hot vulcanizing patcher or vulcanizing press. After the vulcanization time of the rubber conveyor belt vulcanization joint is reached, the vulcanization temperature must be reduced by 40 or less by way of pressure holding and cooling before it can be opened.
After the rubber conveyor belt is damaged, we should cooperate with the construction personnel to choose the appropriate repair method according to the working conditions and environment of the site. If the site is in a hurry, you can choose a cold vulcanized joint that is easy to operate. If the joint time is sufficient, or the tension of the belt joint is relatively large, it is still recommended to use the hot vulcanized joint for repair.

Rubber patches are effective in repairing longitudinally torn rubber steel core tapes, but they cannot be used as binders. For the local damage on the surface of the conveyor belt, when the diameter is not greater than 1 5 of the bandwidth, the conveyor belt still has sufficient overall strength, and it can be repaired with repair fluid without leakage. The repair process is a three-step process:
1) Surface treatment The purpose of surface treatment is to make the repair agent better bonded to the conveyor belt skeleton. Grinding the break to a 60° 90° bevel and cleaning the surface is the key to a successful repair. In operation, according to the damage situation, cut into different cutting grooves, it is best to use a grinding wheel to polish, and use cleaning liquid (such as acetone) to clean and clean.
2) Glue adjustment and repair: Use a liquid repair agent, mix the resin and curing agent in proportion, stir evenly, and apply it in the groove. The general curing time is a few minutes to ten minutes, and the repair work must be completed before curing, and the groove should be larger, so that the repair agent can glue the undamaged cover. STEP4: Brush the cold vulcanized adhesive SK313 on the damaged surface, dry it and brush it again, and dry it until it does not stick to the quilt;
SETP5: Apply cold vulcanized glue to the blue adhesive surface of the patch strip and dry it until slightly sticky;
Step 6: Attach the repair strip to the damaged part and use the compaction roller to compaction;
Step 7: After the repair is completed, apply cold vulcanized adhesive to the edge of the repair strip to allow the RIT repair strip and the repair part to vulcanize naturally.

High-strength rubber repair agent is suitable for filling repair of longitudinal tears in steel cores, whole cores and ordinary conveyor belts, as well as the repair of conveyor belt surface wear, block dropping, belt edge wear, belt surface perforation and joint sealing, as well as the repair of other polyurethane composite pipes, cables, rubber rollers and other rubber products.

The operation process of the conveyor belt patching strip:

5. Brush the mixture of cold vulcanized adhesive SK313 and hardener UT-R40 on the entire repair surface and dry until it does not stick to the back of the finger. When applying, remember to apply evenly and with the same thickness.
6. Brush the mixture of cold vulcanized adhesive SK313 and hardener UT-R40 on the blue CN adhesive surface of the RIT repair strip and dry it until it feels slightly sticky.
7. When pasting the RIT repair strip, use the compaction roller for compaction.
8. After the repair is completed, the connection part of the RIT repair strip should be brushed with a mixture of cold vulcanization adhesive SK313 and hardener UT-R40 to make the CN layer on the edge of the repair strip naturally cold vulcanized.
Conveyor belt repair strip in the paste need to pay attention to the details:
1. Whether the grinding area meets the pasting area of the repair strip.

3. Whether the glue meets the requirements of pasting.
4. Whether the glue is matched with the repair strip.
