Ban Gu (32 A.D. 92 A.D.), the son of the Eastern Han Dynasty historian Ban Biao, the brother of Ban Chao, the word Meng Jian, Fufeng Anling (now Xianyang, Shaanxi). He was born in the eighth year of Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty and died in the fourth year of Emperor Yongyuan of the Eastern Han Dynasty at the age of sixty-one.
